Why is Barry Lunney Jr. not talked about as one of the top OCs? | Cover 3
Draft Scouting Report
Pat Bryant is a prototypical perimeter receiver with a well-proportioned frame—neither oversized nor undersized for the role. Flashes good and at times great burst off the line, coupled with solid route-running ability. While neither trait is truly elite, he isn’t stiff and shows a clear understanding of how to create separation. His speed falls into a similar category—fast enough to pull away from slower cornerbacks but not a pure burner who will consistently stack the fastest defenders. Knows how to combat press coverage with a variety of releases, though he’s not especially shifty, and physicality can disrupt his timing.
Shows surprising burst and contact balance after the catch. While not a defining trait, he’s not the typical X receiver who simply catches the ball and goes down—he has some playmaking ability in space. Hands are sturdy and reliable, with very few drops on film. Demonstrated the ability to secure tough, highlight-reel grabs last season. Plays to the full extent of his frame, showing excellent concentration at the catch point, though he’s not a classic jump-ball winner or high-point specialist.
There’s no singular defining trait in his game, but his blend of size, reliable hands and well-rounded skill set make him a strong candidate for a WR3 role with potential to develop into more.
