Draft Scouting Report
T.J. Sanders is a tall, athletic interior defensive lineman who wins with counter moves and relentless effort. Sanders' rushes are often high, limiting his power, but he compensates with strong hand usage and a knack for technique, frequently employing swipe and arm-over moves. Though his burst off the snap is good, not elite, he shows the ability to counter effectively when initially stymied.
His lateral mobility and flexibility are impressive for his frame, allowing him to slip through gaps and perform well on stunts. While not an explosive athlete, his overall movement skills are a clear asset. Strength is his primary developmental need; he struggles against double teams and must add power to handle NFL-caliber linemen.
As a run defender, Sanders shines with backside pursuit and reliable tackling, leveraging his long arms. He’s slightly more refined as a pass-rusher, though not a dominant force. Overall, he’s a well-rounded interior lineman with a unique frame and untapped potential to grow into a more complete player.
