Speaking to the media Friday, coach Jerod Mayo said Brissett will remain New England's starting quarterback, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.
After going 12-for-18 passing for 98 scoreless yards and failing to lead a touchdown drive, Brissett was pulled from Thursday night's eventual loss to the Jets late in the fourth quarter with the team down 24-3. First-round rookie Drake Maye played the final 4:24 of the game and went 4-for-8 for 22 yards. After Brissett absorbed five sacks, Maye took another two. Neither quarterback stands much of a chance behind New England's bottom-barrel offensive line that was missing a pair of starters versus New York. Brissett sounds like he'll be under center for Week 4 against San Francisco.
