PGA: John Deere Classic - Final Round
USATSI

For the first time in more than 60 years, the PGA Tour is heading to Utah. The 2024 Black Desert Championship will serve as the third event of the FedEx Cup Fall as young guns and veterans alike jostle for positioning for the upcoming 2025 season by way of the FedEx Cup standings.

Seamus Power, Patrick Rodgers, Harris English and Nick Taylor are in prime position ahead of the Black Desert Championship. All four players find themselves inside the Aon Next 10 — Nos. 51-60 in the FedEx Cup standings. While eyes are inevitably drawn to the top of the rankings -- those who finish inside top top 60 qualify for the first two signature events of the 2025 season -- another cut-off point may be even more important.

Reigning PGA Tour University No. 1 Michael Thorbjornsen has a chance to move inside the top 125 this week should he replicate his play from the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he notched a top-10 finish. Already a runner-up on the PGA Tour, the Stanford product hopes to continue to make his mark on the FedEx Cup Fall with another quality finish.

Last week's contenders Beau Hossler and Keith Mitchell try their hand again as they inch closer to the top 60, while PGA Tour winners Chris Kirk, Erik van Rooyen and Kurt Kitayama make their first PGA Tour starts of the fall.
