  • Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Picks up 10th save

Hudson got the save in Tuesday's win over the Mariners, allowing a hit over a scoreless inning.

He was staked a three-run lead after Jason Heyward put the Dodgers ahead in the eighth with a home run. Hudson was able to pick up his first save in eight days and posted just his second scoreless outing over his last six appearances. Michael Kopech and Evan Phillips have also picked up saves over the past week, signifying that the Dodgers' closer role is still more of a committee. Hudson owns a 2.61 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 50:12 K:BB in 51.2 innings to go along with 10 saves, 16 holds and six wins.

  • Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Falters in eighth frame Thursday

Hudson (6-2) blew a save and took the loss against the Brewers on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over two-thirds of an inning.

Los Angeles carried a one-run lead into the eighth inning, and manager Dave Roberts turned to Hudson -- who had six saves over his previous 12 outings entering Thursday -- to face the heart of Milwaukee's order. The strategy didn't pay off, as Hudson was tagged for three runs on a double, two singles and a walk. Though the righty reliever has been excellent overall this season, he's given up at least one earned run in three of his past four appearances. Despite his deployment in the eighth frame Thursday, Hudson is likely to still see some save chances moving forward; however, Roberts has gone with more of a committee approach in recent weeks, so Hudson may not get the same volume of save opportunities as the league's more locked-in closers.

  • Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Perfect for ninth save

Hudson picked up the save Monday against Milwaukee, tossing a perfect ninth inning with no strikeouts.

Hudson has handled the Dodgers' last two save opportunities and has turned in a pair of scoreless innings, boosting his save total to nine. While Evan Phillips and Michael Kopech could see occasional ninth-inning work, the closing job seems to be tilting in favor of Hudson. The 37-year-old Hudson has a 2.02 ERA through 49.0 innings this season.

  • Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Records eighth save

Hudson earned a save against the Phillies on Monday, allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning.

Manager Dave Roberts went to Hudson with the Dodgers up two runs entering the ninth inning, and the righty reliever came through with an 11-pitch scoreless frame. The save was Hudson's first since July 22, with three other Dodgers relievers notching a save since that date. It's apparent that Evan Phillips is no longer going to get the bulk of Los Angeles' save opportunities for the time being, and Hudson seems to be the most likely Dodgers pitcher to be called upon in his stead, but it's quite possible that Roberts continues to spread ninth-inning opportunities among a number of relievers in what has been one of the majors' top bullpens.
