Fried cruised through four innings before allowing two runs during a 25-pitch fifth frame and was removed in the sixth after hitting Brandon Nimmo, who later came around to score. He logged five straight quality starts in a stellar June but has failed to do so in either of his July outings. Even so, the recently announced All-Star now leads the majors with 11 wins, sporting a 2.27 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 111:24 K:BB across 119 innings. He lines up for a tough home matchup with the Cubs next weekend.

Yankees' Max Fried: One bad frame in no-decision

Fried came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 12-5 loss to the Blue Jays, giving up four runs on three hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out two.
The southpaw had little trouble blanking Toronto through three frames, but Fried served up two homers in the fourth, including a three-run shot by Andres Gimenez that put the Yankees in a 4-2 hole. It's only the second time this season Fried's been tagged for multiple homers in the same start. He'll take a 2.13 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 106:23 K:BB through 114 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend against the Mets.

Fried became the first pitcher to reach 10 wins this season, generating 19 whiffs on 106 pitches while recording his fifth consecutive quality start. He has now allowed three earned runs or fewer in 16 of his 17 outings and has completed at least seven frames eight times. The southpaw ranks second in the majors with a 1.92 ERA to go along with a 0.94 WHIP and 104:21 K:BB across 108 innings. He's slated to face the Blue Jays on the road next week.
Fried did not factor into the decision in Friday's loss to the Orioles, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven in six innings. He did not issue a walk.

He has struck out at least seven batters in five of his last seven outings, and his 2.05 ERA and 0.96 WHIP (across 101 innings) rank third and eighth, respectively, among qualified starters in the majors this season. Fried is slated to make his next start on the road against the Reds next week.

He's sporting a terrific 1.89 ERA with a 90:20 K:BB through 95 frames. He's turned in three straight quality starts after coughing up six runs against the Dodgers on May 30. Fried's next matchup is expected to be at home against the Orioles.

The 31-year-old has completed at least seven innings in six of his 14 starts this season, as Tuesday's outing marked his fourth start with no walks allowed. On the year, Fried boasts a 1.84 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and an 81:18 K:BB over 88 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to close out the two-start week with an outing in Boston on Sunday.
