  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Knocks in two

Lowe went 1-for-5 with two RBI on Saturday against the Yankees. Lowe has struggled for the last two weeks, recording only eight hits across 45 at-bats with no multi-hit performances. He has still managed to record seven RBI in that span and is striking out only 21.3 percent of the time, suggesting his results should improve.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Idle versus southpaw

Lowe is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Yankees on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. With the Yankees sending southpaw Carlos Rodon to the mound, the lefty-hitting Lowe will begin Friday's contest in the dugout while Curtis Mead starts at second base and bats third. Lowe has opened the season slashing .239/.268/.373 with three walks, six runs scored, three homers and 11 RBI in 71 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Sitting versus lefty

Lowe is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox. Lowe started Opening Day versus a lefty but has been absent from the lineup each of the three times the Rays have faced a southpaw since then. Coco Montes will play second base and bat seventh in Wednesday's series finale.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Idle against southpaw

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. With southpaw Chris Sale toeing the rubber for Atlanta, Lowe will head to the bench along with fellow left-handed bats Jonathan Aranda and Kameron Misner. Coco Montes will enter the lineup in Lowe's stead, occupying second base and batting seventh.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Sitting against lefty

Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. With lefty Yusei Kikuchi on the hill for the Angels, the Rays will counter with a lineup made up entirely of right-handed and switch hitters. Curtis Mead will spell Lowe at second base and will bat third.

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Rangers. Lowe popped his third home run of the season in the third inning and now has at least one hit in six of his eight starts. • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Homers again in three-hit evening

Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, a walk, three RBI and two runs in Tuesday's win over the Pirates. Lowe buoyed the Rays with a two-run blast in the fourth and added another RBI with a base knock in the eighth. He's enjoyed a productive homestand to open up the 2025 season and is the team leader in hits (seven), RBI (five) and home runs (two) through the first five games of the year.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Cracks first homer Sunday

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Rockies. The Rays veteran took Ryan Feltner deep in the first inning for his first long ball of the season, slugging it 409 feet to right field. Lowe closed out his opening weekend by going 4-for-13 (.308) at the plate and drawing three consecutive starts, including against the left-handed Kyle Freeland on Opening Day. The 30-year-old entered the season with a career .245/.330/.482 slash line and could be poised for significant power output thanks to the dimensions of George M. Steinbrenner Field, the Rays' current home park.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Draws start versus southpaw

Lowe is starting at second base and batting third in Friday's opener versus the Rockies. Not only is the left-handed hitting Lowe in the lineup against southpaw Kyle Freeland, but he's hitting in the middle of the order. Lowe has been better versus righties (.833 OPS) than lefties (.737 OPS) in his career, but he had an .835 OPS against left-handers in 2024.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Homers in consecutive games

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Monday's Grapefruit League game against Atlanta. The wind aided Lowe, but he managed to take Chris Sale yard in the third inning. The performance was notable because it was a homer off of one of the best left-handed pitchers in the league and because it was his second consecutive game with a long ball. Even on a platoon-heavy team, Lowe projects to be the Rays' everyday second baseman while occupying a premium spot in the lineup.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Club option picked up

The Rays exercised Lowe's $10 million club option for 2025 on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. It's possible the Rays will look to trade Lowe as his salary escalates, but picking up the option was a fairly easy call. They also have an $11.5 million club option for 2026. Lowe slashed .244/.311/.473 with 21 home runs over 425 plate appearances for Tampa Bay this season.

Lowe will sit for the Rays' regular-season finale as Dylan Carlson serves as the designated hitter and bats seventh. Unless he pinch hits Sunday, Lowe will end the 2024 regular season with a .244/.311/.473 slash line, 21 home runs and 58 RBI across 425 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Three homers in eight games

Lowe went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Red Sox. Despite missing time with a finger injury, Lowe has homered three times in his last eight games. He needs one more long ball to reach 20 for the second consecutive season, and his .238 ISO is his highest mark since 2021.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Tallies 18th homer

Lowe went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Thursday against the Guardians. Lowe blasted his home run in the first inning, bringing his total on the season to 18. He failed to go yard for a 15-game stretch between Aug. 19 and Sept. 5, but he has now homered twice in his last five appearances despite dealing with inflammation of his middle finger. Lowe has only 367 plate appearances but is closing in on his second consecutive 20-homer campaign.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Rejoining lineup Wednesday

Lowe (finger) will serve as the Rays' designated hitter and No. 2 batter in Wednesday's game against the Phillies. Lowe makes his return to the lineup after he didn't start in any of the Rays' past five games while he contended with ligament inflammation on both sides of his middle finger. He made pinch-hitting appearances in both of the first two games of the series and even saw some action at second base Monday, but the Rays aren't quite ready to let him play a full game in the field just yet. Lowe will be eased back in as the Rays' designated hitter, but it shouldn't be long before he resumes playing the keystone regularly.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Not in Monday's lineup

Lowe (finger) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game in Philadelphia. Left-hander Cristopher Sanchez is toeing the rubber for the Phillies, so the lefty-hitting Lowe might not have started Monday even if his finger injury is no longer a concern. In any case, with Lowe on the bench for a fourth straight game, Jose Caballero will pick up another start at second base.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Absence continuing Sunday

Lowe (finger) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles. The 30-year-old will sit for the third consecutive game due ligament inflammation in his little finger. Lowe (finger) isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reporrts. Jonathan Aranda will pick up a start at the keystone and bat second while Lowe sits.

  • Rays' Brandon Lowe: Out Friday with finger injury

Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles with ligament inflammation on both sides of his middle finger, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports. The Rays are trying to get the inflammation to "calm down," per manager Kevin Cash, but right now they're unsure how long it's going to take before Lowe can return to action. The second baseman had his finger wrapped prior to Friday's game and will be sent for further evaluation. Jose Caballero is starting at second base Friday against right-hander Dean Kremer, with Taylor Walls at shortstop.
