Warriors' Jimmy Butler: Cleared to debut Saturday
Butler (recently traded) has been cleared to play against the Bulls on Saturday, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.
Butler was traded by the Heat to the Warriors on Wednesday in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, Dennis Schroeder and a protected 2025 first-round pick. Butler wasn't able to make his Warriors debut against the Lakers on Thursday, but he will suit up alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green on Saturday. In the 22 games prior to his first suspension from the Heat in early January, Butler averaged 17.6 points on 55.2 percent shooting, 5.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.2 steals over 30.8 minutes per game.

Warriors' Jimmy Butler: Trending toward debut Saturday
Butler is trending toward making his Warriors debut in Saturday's game against Chicago, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
The Warriors agreed in principle Wednesday to a deal that sends Butler to Goldne State, but since multiple players involved in the five-team trade still need to pass physicals, the deal has not yet been finalized. Before being suspended by the Heat for the third time in less than a month in late January for conduct detrimental to the team, Butler had averaged 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 30.6 minutes per game over 25 appearances. Butler has reportedly kept himself in playing shape amid his latest suspension, so he could be ready to handle something close to a full workload if he's able to make his Warriors debut Saturday.

Warriors' Jimmy Butler: Won't debut Thursday
Butler (recently traded) won't play in Thursday's game versus the Lakers, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.
Though the Warriors agreed Wednesday to a multi-team deal that will send Butler to Golden State, the veteran forward will have to wait to make his team debut while the trade is still in the process of being finalized. Butler hadn't played since Jan. 21 after being suspended by the Heat prior to being traded, but the 35-year-old has reportedly kept himself in shape and healthy during his layoff from game action, according to NBA reporter Chris Haynes. Assuming the Warriors are satisfied with his conditioning, Butler could be thrust into a big-minute role right away if the trade is made official prior to the team's next game Saturday versus the Bulls.

Warriors' Jimmy Butler: Shipped to Golden State
The Warriors acquired Butler from the Heat on Wednesday in exchange for forwards Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson, guard Dennis Schroder and a protected 2025 first-round pick, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Butler had been suspended indefinitely by Miami since Jan. 27 for conduct detrimental to the team but will get a chance at a fresh start with the Warriors. The veteran forward likely won't be available for Golden State's next two games Wednesday in Utah and Thursday in Los Angeles while all players involved in the trade need to pass physicals before the deal is official, but once active, expect Butler to fill Wiggins' vacated spot in the starting lineup. While Stephen Curry will likely still rank as the Warriors' primary offensive option, Butler should come close to matching or exceeding the 19.9 percent usage rate he held down with Miami this season, given Golden State's lack of other ball-dominant players. In order to facilitate the trade, Charania relays that Butler has declined his 2025-26 player option and has agreed to a two-year, $121 million extension with the Warriors.
