Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Strong outing off bench
Dinwiddie registered 22 points (7-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists, and one steal over 31 minutes in Thursday's 127-120 win over the Celtics.
Thursday was Dinwiddie's most productive outing since his 28-point performance against the Thunder on Jan. 17. The veteran guard made timely buckets that prevented the Celtics from making any sort of comeback, and he finished as the Mavericks' second-leading scorer behind Klay Thompson (25). Though he's coming off the bench, Dinwiddie will have opportunities to run the Mavericks' offense alongside newcomer Anthony Davis (abdomen) when Kyrie Irving rests on the bench.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Returning to bench Tuesday
Dinwiddie is not in the Mavericks' starting lineup against the 76ers on Tuesday, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
Dinwiddie started in 16 of the Mavericks' last 19 games, and over that span he averaged 12.8 points, 4.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 0.9 steals over 29.9 minutes per contest. He has failed to play more than 30 minutes in each of his last five outings, and he'll revert to a reserve role Tuesday due to Kyrie Irving (finger) returning from a one-game absence and Kessler Edwards being inserted into the starting five.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Muted impact in loss
Dinwiddie chipped in five points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound and four assists in 23 minutes during Friday's 117-102 loss to Detroit.
Dinwiddie struggled Friday, scoring his fewest points since a two-point showing in the Jan. 3 loss to Cleveland. The veteran guard wraps up an erratic month of January, during which he posted double-digit scoring figures in only eight of his 16 contests (13 starts). Dinwiddie should remain a fixture in Dallas' lineup until Luka Doncic returns from a calf strain, but he's still been a hit-or-miss fantasy option.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Modest effort in victory Wednesday
Dinwiddie totaled 11 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 28 minutes during Wednesday's 137-136 win over New Orleans.
Dinwiddie continues to start for the Mavericks, having opened the game in seven of the past eight contests. He appears to have settled into a consistent role, typically playing around 30 minutes per game. Luka Doncic continues to bide his time on the sideline as a result of a calf injury, although he is slated to return in the next week or two. Up until that point, Dinwiddie should remain a relatively consistent source of what can be considered typical guard stats.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Erupts for team-high 28 points
Dinwiddie ended Thursday's 121-115 win over Oklahoma City with 28 points (11-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and three assists in 35 minutes.
After scoring in single digits in his previous two outings, Dinwiddie erupted with an efficient 28 points to lead the Mavericks but didn't make as big of an impact in the other areas of the box score. Although the veteran guard is playing a more prominent role in Dallas' rotation while Luka Doncic nurses a calf strain, Dinwiddie remains a fairly volatile fantasy option on a nightly basis. He's averaging 15.6 points, 4.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.6 three-pointers while shooting 29.2 percent from deep over his last nine games.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Solid outing in loss
Dinwiddie racked up 20 points (6-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, four assists and three steals in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 119-116 loss to the Pelicans.
Dinwiddie continues to help shoulder the scoring load with superstar Luka Doncic (calf) on the mend and Kyrie Irving (back) missing this contest after a one-game return. Dinwiddie is averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game as a starter, shooting 38.2 percent from the floor and 25 percent from deep.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Heads back to bench
Dinwiddie isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Nuggets, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
Kyrie Irving will replace Dinwiddie in the starting five Tuesday after missing Dallas' last five contests due to a bulging disc in his back. Dinwiddie is averaging 9.5 points, 3.6 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 23.1 minutes across his last 10 appearances coming off the bench.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Hands out 10 assists Sunday
Dinwiddie posted 16 points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 8-10 FT), four rebounds, 10 assists and one steal over 39 minutes during Sunday's 112-101 loss to Denver.
Dinwiddie had a rough showing from the floor and missed nine of his 13 attempts, but he salvaged his fantasy performance by tying his season-high mark in the assists department. The veteran floor general has looked good of late, starting in seven of Dallas' last eight games while averaging 14.4 points, 5.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 0.5 steals per contest. Dinwiddie should maintain a sizable role as long as Luka Doncic (calf) and Kyrie Irving (back) are sidelined.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Strong showing in Tuesday's start
Dinwiddie finished with 19 points (8-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Tuesday's 118-97 win over the Lakers.
With Luka Doncic (calf) and Kyrie Irving (back) both unavailable, Dinwiddie has started five of the last six games, but his production during that stretch has been unpredictable. Over the previous three contests, the veteran guard had scored a total of just 16 points on 6-for-17 shooting (35.3 percent). Dinwiddie should continue seeing increased court time for at least another week or two, and his potential to pop for a ceiling game -- he also dropped 30 points on the Kings on Dec. 30 -- gives him some appeal as a DFS tournament play.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Starting Tuesday
Dinwiddie will enter the starting lineup in Tuesday's game against the Lakers.
Dinwiddie will return to the starting five after coming off the bench in Monday's loss to Memphis, during which he posted six points (2-3 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three assists and a rebound across 30 minutes. The veteran point guard has seen a significant bump in playing time with Luka Doncic (calf) and Kyrie Irving (back) sidelined, and over his last five outings (four starts), Dinwiddie has averaged 12.6 points, 4.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds across 29.4 minutes per game.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Coming off bench Monday
Dinwiddie is not in the Mavericks' starting lineup against the Grizzlies on Monday, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
Dinwiddie has started in each of the Mavericks' last four games, though he struggled in his last outing against the Cavaliers on Friday, finishing with two points on 1-for-7 shooting along with five assists and four rebounds over 23 minutes. Naji Marshall and Klay Thompson will serve as the Mavericks' two starting guards Monday while Dinwiddie reverts to the bench.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Leads team with 30 points in loss
Dinwiddie closed with 30 points (8-18 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 11-12 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Monday's 110-100 loss to Sacramento.
Kyrie Irving (shoulder) missed Monday's game to rest his nagging shoulder injury, but Dinwiddie was excellent in picking up the sack. Irving deserved the night off after a string of solid totals to account for Luka Doncic's (calf) absence, but Dinwiddie proved that he can also shoulder the load when needed. The veteran guard is expected to be a key piece of Dallas' solution to the Doncic problem, making Dinwiddie a worthwhile fantasy addition if he's available.

Mavericks' Spencer Dinwiddie: Begins fill-in role with 17 points
Dinwiddie totaled 17 points (5-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds and four assists across 35 minutes during Saturday's 126-122 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Although players like Quentin Grimes and Jaden Hardy will occasionally step in, the Mavericks will use a backcourt of Dinwiddie and Kyrie Irving to account for Luka Doncic's (calf) absence, with Irving sliding over to point guard as the lead facilitator. Dinwiddie's adjusted role as the off-guard allowed him to have a diverse line with solid three-category production, making him a great addition off the waiver wire if he is still available.
