While Podziemski will miss Tuesday's contest, he's expected to be fine and play through a broken nose once he acquires a fitted mask, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic. After a strong rookie season, Podziemski is competing with De'Anthony Melton for the starting shooting-guard spot vacated by Klay Thompson.

Given his familiarity with the organization and the upside he showed as a rookie, Podziemski is getting a shot to compete for the starting spot left by Klay Thompson's departure. However, veteran free-agent acquisition De'Anthony Melton got the first crack, with Podziemski and Buddy Hield operating off the bench.
