Top Celtics News

  • Celtics' Josh Minott: Ruled out for Thursday

Minott (ankle) won't play in Thursday's game against the Heat, per Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site.

Thursday's contest will be a fifth on the shelf for Minott due to an ankle sprain. His next opportunity to return comes Saturday in Atlanta, though the forward had been dropped from Boston's rotation before going down.

  • Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Absent from injury report

Brown (back) is off the injury report for Thursday's game against the Heat, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.

Following a one-game absence during Monday's loss in Indiana due to lower-back spasms, Brown is good to go for Thursday. In January, the star forward has averaged 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 3.0 three-pointers in 36.4 minutes per contest through six games.

  • Celtics' Derrick White: Notches 18 points in loss

White recorded 18 points (7-21 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and five assists over 36 minutes during Monday's 98-96 loss to the Pacers.

This was not White's best shooting night, obviously, but fantasy managers haven't had much to complain about this season. Across 38 regular-season appearances, White is on pace to return second-round fantasy value in nine-category formats with 18.6 points, 5.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.6 blocks and 3.2 three-pointers.

  • Celtics' Anfernee Simons: Tallies 16 points off bench

Simons racked up 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt), three rebounds and four assists across 24 minutes during Monday's 98-96 loss to Indiana.

Simons scored at least 15 points for the fifth time in the past six games, salvaging what was otherwise another empty night. While the scoring has been a little better, he has struggled to contribute elsewhere, averaging 3.5 assists with zero steals during that six-game span. At best, he should be viewed as a streamer for points and threes.

  • Celtics' Neemias Queta: 15 points with full line

Queta notched 15 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals across 32 minutes during Monday's 98-96 loss to the Pacers.

Queta scored at least 15 points for the first time in his past 17 games, chipping in with production across the board. Despite his limited ceiling, Queta continues to be a must-roster player, averaging 10.8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 combined steals-plus-blocks in eight games over the past two weeks.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Improved performance in loss

Walsh ended with six points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), nine rebounds, one assist and three steals across 26 minutes during Monday's 98-96 loss to Indiana.

Walsh logged 26 minutes in the loss, which is the most he has played in his past five games. After a stint in the starting lineup, Walsh has since been reduced to a limited role off the bench. In four games over the past week, Walsh has averaged just 1.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 16.0 minutes per game. Given the uncertainty in Boston, there is no reason to consider Walsh a pickup based on this effort.

  • Celtics' Payton Pritchard: Bounces back in loss

Pritchard closed Monday's 98-96 loss to Indiana with 23 points (10-22 FG, 3-7 3Pt), four rebounds, eight assists and two steals over 37 minutes.

Pritchard responded well from a miserable shooting performance Saturday against the Spurs by leading the Celtics in scoring Monday. He was asked to step up without Jaylen Brown (back) and answered the call, as Pritchard got back in rhythm from beyond the arc and reached the 20-point threshold for the third time in his last five games. However, it wasn't enough to help Boston emerge victorious after Pascal Siakam knocked home the game-winning shot with 6.8 seconds to go.

  • Celtics' Baylor Scheierman: Starting sans Brown

Scheierman will start against the Pacers on Monday, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.

The second-year forward will enter the starting five for the first time this season due to Jaylen Brown (back) being sidelined. Scheierman has averaged 3.4 points in 10.6 minutes per game across five appearances in January, though he's likely to see a significant bump in minutes Monday.

  • Celtics' Hugo Gonzalez: Sliding to bench Monday

Gonzalez won't start against the Pacers on Monday, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.

With Sam Hauser (hamstring) back in the lineup after a one-game absence, Gonzalez will slide to the second unit. Over six appearances (one start) so far this month, the rookie first-rounder has averaged 2.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per tilt.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Upgraded to available

Hauser (hamstring) is available for Monday's game against the Pacers, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.

Hauser sat out Saturday's defeat to San Antonio with right hamstring tightness, but he's keeping his absence to a one-game minimum Monday. The sharpshooter has started four straight contests, and Hauser has averaged 9.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.8 three-pointers in 26.3 minutes per tilt across nine starts in 2025-26.

  • Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Won't go Monday

Brown (back) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pacers, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.

Brown was added to the injury report as doubtful due to lower-back spasms, so this was the expected outcome. The Celtics have yet to release their starting lineup, but look for Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman to see an increase in chances Monday night.

  • Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Doubtful for Monday

Brown is doubtful to play Monday versus the Pacers due to lower-back spasms.

It appears that Brown will be unavailable Monday evening, but the good news is that after Monday's game, the Celtics won't play again until Thursday, so Brown will have plenty of time to rest his back. Sam Hauser (hamstring) is questionable for Monday, and if he's forced to join Brown on the inactive list, Hugo Gonzalez could get the start, while Payton Pritchard and Derrick White will do the heavy lifting on offense.

  • Celtics' Sam Hauser: Iffy for Monday

Hauser (hamstring) is questionable for Monday's game against the Pacers, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.

Hauser missed Saturday's loss to the Spurs due to right hamstring tightness, which was his first time on the inactive list this season. If he's unable to shake off his questionable tag Monday, Jordan Walsh and Hugo Gonzalez are candidates for increased roles. Over five appearances (four starts) this month, Hauser has averaged 11.4 points, 3.4 three-pointers and 3.2 rebounds in 26.6 minutes per contest.

  • Celtics' Josh Minott: Out again Monday

Minott (ankle) won't play Monday in Indiana, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.

This will be the fourth straight game on the inactive list for Minott. His next chance to play will come Thursday in Miami.

... See More ... See Less
  • Celtics' Baylor Scheierman: Scratches out 10 points Saturday

Scheierman provided 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds and two steals in 26 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 100-95 loss to the Spurs.

Hugo Gonzalez got the start at power forward with Sam Hauser (hamstring) unavailable, but it was Scheierman who saw more minutes, with the second-year player using the opportunity to score in double digits for the first time since Nov. 26. It's not clear if Hauser will need to miss any more time, but if he does, Scheierman could have some short-term appeal as a DFS punt play.
