Spurs' Malaki Branham: Headed to G League
The Spurs assigned Branham to the G League's Austin Spurs on Saturday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Branham has received inconsistent playing time for San Antonio this season, so he should receive increased opportunities in the G League. However, Branham has yet to make an appearance for Austin this season.

Spurs' Charles Bassey: Remaining sidelined
Bassey (knee) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Pelicans.
Bassey's absence streak will extend to 11 games Saturday due to a bone bruise in his left knee. Until San Antonio provides a timetable for his return, Bassey can be considered week-to-week.

Spurs' Blake Wesley: Emerges with 10 points off bench
Wesley finished with 10 points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals over 24 minutes during Friday's 145-134 loss to Charlotte.
The 2022 first-rounder logged his most minutes since the Dec. 13 win over Portland, and his 10 points were his most since way back on Nov. 26. Although it was rookie first-rounder Stephon Castle who stepped into the starting lineup, it would appear initially that Wesley is also one of the direct beneficiaries of the absence of De'Aaron Fox (finger) for the remainder of 2024-25. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on Wesley's role moving ahead.

Spurs' Devin Vassell: Strong results continue Friday
Vassell posted 22 points (9-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Friday's 145-134 loss to Charlotte.
After struggling in mid-February, Vassell has strung together eight games in a row in double-digit scoring figures. The 24-year-old swingman has averaged 19.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.9 steals, 1.0 blocks and 3.0 three-pointers in 33.4 minutes during this stretch, and he should continue handling a more pronounced role with De'Aaron Fox (finger) and Victor Wembanyama (shoulder) done for the season.

Spurs' Stephon Castle: Leads team with 26 points in start
Castle closed with 26 points (10-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Friday's 145-134 loss to the Hornets.
In his first start since the Spurs lost De'Aaron Fox (finger) for the rest of the season, Castle led San Antonio in scoring Friday while supplying a full stat line. The rookie first-rounder has witnessed a considerable rise in fantasy value as part of the first unit in 2024-25, which should continue going forward. Over his last 11 games as a starter, Castle has averaged 18.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in 29.7 minutes.

Spurs' Stephon Castle: Back in starting lineup
Castle is in the Spurs' starting lineup against the Hornets on Friday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Castle has come off the bench since Feb. 5 following the Spurs' acquisition of De'Aaron Fox (finger) from the Kings. With Fox out for the season, Castle will re-enter the starting lineup alongside Chris Paul in the frontcourt. As a starter this season, Castle has averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 0.9 steals over 29.7 minutes per game.

Spurs' Charles Bassey: Remains out Friday
Bassey (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Hornets, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Bassey remains out and doesn't have a clear timetable for his return. His next chance to suit up will come against the Pelicans on Saturday in the second leg of a back-to-back set.

Spurs' De'Aaron Fox: Undergoing season-ending surgery
Fox will undergo season-ending surgery Tuesday to repair tendon damage to his left pinkie finger, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
While he was still playing for the Kings back in November, Fox admitted that he was playing through a ligament injury in the finger. The injury didn't seem to compromise his play, and he missed just four games all season due to a right thumb sprain, and none after being traded by Sacramento to San Antonio in early February. With the 27-37 Spurs having faded from the playoff race and with Victor Wembanyama (blood clot) already out for the season, Fox will opt to get the finger injury addressed now rather than waiting until the offseason to have surgery. He'll conclude his eighth NBA season with averages of 23.5 points, 6.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.5 steals in 36.1 minutes per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field over his 62 appearances. In Fox's absence, Stephon Castle is the likely candidate to fill the opening in the Spurs' starting five alongside Chris Paul, while reserves Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson could benefit from more playing time over the rest of the season.

Spurs' Julian Champagnie: Quiet again Wednesday
Champagnie recorded seven points (3-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and two steals across 18 minutes during Wednesday's 126-116 win over Dallas.
Champagnie scored in single digits for the sixth straight game, continuing to play a limited role off the bench. While he has had some nice flashes this season, Champagnie has largely served as a depth piece, averaging 9.5 points and 2.0 three-pointers in 23.2 minutes per game thus far.

Spurs' De'Aaron Fox: Leads all scorers with 32 points
Fox ended with 32 points (12-25 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), nine rebounds, 11 assists and one steal across 41 minutes during Wednesday's 126-116 victory over the Mavericks.
Fox scored a game-high 32 points, the most he has scored since arriving in San Antonio prior to the trade deadline. Although a season-ending health scare for Victor Wembanyama has set the Spurs back a little when it comes to their timeline, Fox has been able to deliver serviceable production on most nights. Over the past 14 games, he is averaging 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 three-pointers.

Spurs' Sandro Mamukelashvili: Fails to score in win
Mamukelashvili closed with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound in five minutes during Wednesday's 126-116 win over the Mavericks.
Mamukelashvili once again saw limited minutes off the bench despite the fact the Spurs are shorthanded when it comes to center options. In his past 12 games, Mamukelashvili is averaging a modest 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in just 9.2 minutes per game. While there is a chance he steps into a larger role at some point before the end of the season, we have clearly not arrived at that point yet.

Spurs' Jeremy Sochan: Available Wednesday
Sochan (calf) will play in Wednesday's game against the Mavericks.
Sochan missed Monday's game due to a bruised left calf, but the issue will not prevent him from suiting up against Dallas on Wednesday. Since the start of February, Sochan is averaging 9.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists across 21.8 minutes.

Spurs' Devin Vassell: Good to go
Vassell (wrist) will play in Wednesday's game against the Mavericks.
Vassell was initially tabbed questionable for the contest due to a bruised right wrist. However, he's been cleared to take the floor Wednesday. In his last six games, Vassell is averaging 19.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks across 33.7 minutes.

Spurs' Jeremy Sochan: Iffy for Wednesday
Sochan (calf) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Mavericks, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Sochan is in danger of missing his second straight contest Wednesday due to a left calf contusion. If Sochan is forced to sit out yet again, Keldon Johnson, Julian Champagnie and Sandro Mamukelashvili are candidates to receive increased playing time off San Antonio's bench.

Bassey (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Bassey has missed the last eight games for the Spurs while dealing with a bruise on his left knee. The next opportunity for the 24-year-old big man to get back on the floor will be Friday against the Hornets.
