Tyler Smith: Reaches injury settlement
Smith (undisclosed) was waived after reaching an injury settlement with the Panthers on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Smith sustained an undisclosed injury at some point during the preseason and was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. The offensive lineman will now have the chance to pass a physical and sign elsewhere at some point during the 2024 campaign.

Smith is managing an undisclosed issue that caused him to be waived/injured Tuesday. He cleared waivers, and if he doesn't work out an injury settlement with Carolina, he'll miss the entire 2024 season.

It is unclear when Smith picked up his undisclosed injury and how serious it is. If he does not get claimed off waivers, the prospective depth offensive lineman will revert back to Carolina's injured reserve. His season would then be over unless both parties can land on an injury settlement at some point down the road.
