Player Outlook
Are you looking for a deep sleeper at tight end? Consider Hunter Henry, who averaged 10.2 PPR points in Drake Maye's 10 healthy games. Henry won't win you your Fantasy league, but he could be a worthwhile streamer if New England's passing game takes a big step forward in Maye's second season. The Patriots were dead last in the NFL in gross passing yards per game and threw only 18 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Henry set career highs and led the Patriots in targets, catches, and yards. He also was New England's top target earner in the red zone and the end zone, yet it translated to only two touchdowns. Sure, the Patriots have added Stefon Diggs, Mack Hollins, and rookie Kyle Williams, but if Henry continues to play more than 80% of the snaps as he did last season and Maye has a big sophomore year, Henry will be Fantasy relevant. Henry had an impressive 21% target share with Maye on the field in 2024. Again, don't expect a game-changer, but don't overlook Henry's potential to be a top-15 tight end.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Participates in OTAs

Henry (foot) was on the field for Wednesday's practice during the Patriots' current voluntary organized team activities, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. A foot injury sidelined Henry for the final game of the 2024 regular season, but Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald relays that the tight end wasn't among the players limited at Wednesday's session. Henry, who recorded a receiving line of 66/674/2 on 97 targets in 16 games last season, is back for his fifth year with New England and is set to maintain his role as the top pass-catching option in a TE corps that also features fellow returnee Austin Hooper, who notched 45 catches in 2024.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Inactive Sunday

Henry (foot) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Bills. After being listed as limited at practice this past week, Henry carried a 'questionable' designation into the weekend. With Henry sidelined for the Patriots' season finale, Austin Hooper is available to lead a Week 18 tight-end corps that also includes Jaheim Bell and Jack Westover. Henry, who is under contract with New England through the 2026 campaign, thus concludes his fourth year with the franchise with a receiving line of 66/674/2 on 97 targets in 16 games.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Questionable for Week 18

Henry (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Bills, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports. Henry was limited in practice during the entirety of Week 18 prep, thus leaving his status in flux heading into the weekend. With a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff on tap Sunday, his status will be confirmed about 90 minutes before that point. Having said that, even if he's available, Henry could cede some TE reps to Austin Hooper or perhaps even rookie seventh-round pick Jaheim Bell.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Another limited practice

Henry (foot) remained limited at practice Thursday. Henry also was limited Wednesday, so the tight end probably will need to work fully Friday in order to approach Sunday's game against the Bills without an injury designation. As for the 3-13 Patriots' approach heading into Week 18, head coach Jerod Mayo said Wednesday that he's planning on having all the team's healthy starters take the field this weekend, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Limited by foot injury

Henry was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to a foot injury. Henry logged a season-low 30 snaps on offense in this past Saturday's 40-7 loss to the Chargers, so his limitations in practice Wednesday could stem from an issue that cropped up in that contest. The tight end's status is thus worth monitoring as Sunday's season finale against the Bills approaches. Though a loss to Buffalo would ensure that the 3-13 Patriots get the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, head coach Jerod Mayo said that he's planning on having all the team's healthy starters take the field, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Zero catches versus former team

Henry didn't record a catch (on two targets) in Saturday's 40-7 loss to the Chargers. Henry, who logged a season-low 30 (out of a possible 53) snaps on offense Saturday, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, was blanked for the first time this year at an inopportune time for fantasy managers who'd grown accustomed to his steady production out of the tight-end position. Henry and the Patriots will close out their 2024 campaign this Sunday at home against a Buffalo team that is locked into the AFC's No. 2 playoff seed.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: TEs to Start

Henry has a tough matchup in Week 17 against the Chargers, who are No. 9 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, but I'm still going to start him in the majority of leagues. He just had four catches for 39 yards and a touchdown on nine targets in Week 16 at Buffalo, and he has now scored at least 9.4 PPR points in eight of his past 10 games, including six outings with at least 12.3 PPR points. There have been eight tight ends with at least five targets against the Chargers, and five have scored at least 9.5 PPR points. Henry has at least five targets in eight of his past 10 games.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)

Henry had a down game in Week 15 at Arizona with four catches for 25 yards on four targets, but prior to that he scored at least 9.4 PPR points in six of his previous seven outings. He has a tough matchup in Week 16 at Buffalo, and I'd lower expectations for Henry in the majority of leagues. The Bills have only allowed three touchdowns to tight ends this season, and only three tight ends have scored double digits in Fantasy points. Henry also has just one touchdown this season, which came in Week 6, so his value is even lower in non-PPR leagues.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Catches late TD

Henry recorded four receptions on nine targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Bills. Henry led the team with nine targets, though he was outgained by both Austin Hooper and Kayshon Boutte. His most impactful plays came on a 12-yard gain toward the close of the first quarter and on a nine-yard touchdown catch with just over a minute remaining in the contest. It was his first trip to the end zone since Week 6 and only his second score of the campaign. Henry's production has fluctuated in recent weeks, though he has at least eight targets in our of his last five games.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Contrarian DFS Play

Henry's price continues to fall after another disappointing week. He somehow has fewer touchdowns on the season than Trey McBride, who still hasn't caught a touchdown. Still, he has eight or more targets in three of his last four games and this should be a high volume pass game for Drake Maye.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Gains 25 yards in loss

Henry brought in all four of his targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Cardinals. Henry finished first on the Patriots in receptions and second in targets Sunday, but he ranked fourth in receiving yards in a collective poor offensive showing by New England. The veteran tight end did set a new career high in receptions (64), and he is just 17 yards shy of his current best of 653 receiving yards set back in 2019. Henry's lack of touchdowns (one) holds him back from being a reliable option in fantasy ahead of next Sunday's tilt against Buffalo.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: TEs to Start

I'm overlooking the matchup here for Henry since Arizona is No. 7 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends and trusting the player. Henry has been great since Drake Maye took over as the starting quarterback for the Patriots, and hopefully he stays hot in Week 15. He went into his Week 14 bye with at least eight targets in four of his past five games, including three in a row, and he scored at least 12.3 PPR points in three of those outings. Also, only four tight ends have at least six targets against the Cardinals this season, and two of them scored at least 16.1 PPR points. It would be a surprise if Henry didn't get at least six targets in this matchup.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Week 15 Streamers (TE Preview)

Hunter Henry ranks top 12 in Fantasy points per game amongst tight ends who will be active this week. That's even more impressive because he's only scored one touchdown all season. If I could get Henry, I think I would just set it and forget it rest of season. He only has one game with fewer than 9.4 PPR Fantasy points since Week 5.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Week 15 Waiver Priority List

Henry has been great since Drake Maye took over as the starting quarterback for the Patriots, and hopefully, he stays hot for the stretch run. He went into his Week 14 bye with at least eight targets in four of his past five games, including three in a row, and he scored at least 12.3 PPR points in three of those outings. He doesn't have an easy schedule to close the season with matchups against the Cardinals, Bills, and Chargers in the next three games, but Maye should help Henry be a useful low-end starter in all leagues with the amount of targets he should get in those matchups.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Leading receiver in Sunday's loss

Henry caught seven of nine targets for 75 yards in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Colts. The veteran tight end once again led the Patriots in catches, targets and receiving yards, but Henry got denied a bigger performance when Austin Hooper caught Drake Maye's only TD of the day in the second quarter instead. Henry is on the verge of a career-best campaign, needing just three more catches and 43 more yards to set new personal bests in those categories. He'll aim for those marks on the other side of New England's Week 14 bye.
... See More ... See Less
  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Sleeper TEs

Henry comes into Week 13 against the Colts, having scored at least 12.3 PPR points in four of his past seven games, and I like his matchup against Indianapolis. The Colts are No. 7 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and seven tight ends have scored at least 8.1 PPR points against Indianapolis this season. Henry scored 9.4 PPR points in Week 12 at Miami, and I like that he had eight targets and five catches. He should remain a focal point for Drake Maye, and Henry should be considered a low-end starter in all leagues in Week 13.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Five catches Sunday

Henry, who was on the field for 57 of a possible 69 snaps on offense in Sunday's 34-15 loss to the Dolphins, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, caught five of his team-high eight targets for 44 yards in the contest. Fellow tight end Austin Hooper, who logged 26 snaps in the game, also made his mark Sunday by catching all four of his targets for 59 yards and a TD. Given his steady workload in the Patriots offense, Henry retains weekly utility from a fantasy perspective, but it's worth noting that his only TD this season occurred back in Week 6.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: TEs to Start

In Week 11 against the Rams, Henry was back to being a go-to option for Drake Maye, scoring at least 12.3 PPR points for the fourth time in five healthy games with his rookie quarterback. He has three games over that span with at least eight targets, and hopefully Maye continues to feature Henry in Week 12 at Miami. The Dolphins have also been miserable against tight ends of late with Trey McBride (21.4 PPR points) and Brock Bowers (31.3 PPR points) having huge outings in two of the past four weeks. But also Buffalo's tight ends of Dalton Kincaid and Quintin Morris combined for 14.4 PPR points in Week 9, and Davis Allen had five catches for 34 yards on six targets in Week 10. This is a good matchup for Henry.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Sleeper TEs

Henry is coming off his worst game with Drake Maye in Week 10 at Chicago with one catch for 14 yards on four targets, but I expect Henry to get back on track in Week 11 against the Rams, who are No. 9 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends. Six tight ends have scored at least 8.5 PPR points against the Rams, and Henry has scored at least 12.6 PPR points in each of the past three complete games with Maye.
