Browns' DeAndre Carter: Latches on with Cleveland
The Browns are slated to sign Carter (hamstring) to a one-year contract, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
Carter turns 32 years old in April and spent last season with the Bears, appearing in 13 regular-season contests. He accrued nine catches for 72 scoreless yards on limited offensive snaps but also handled kickoff and punt returns for Chicago. He missed the final four games with a hamstring injury. Special teams is Carter's calling card and figures to be where he'll mostly operate with the Browns.

Bears' DeAndre Carter: Set to hit free agency
Carter ended the season on injured reserve after catching nine passes for 72 yards in nine games.
Carter finishes the year with nine catches for 72 yards on 14 targets. His main contributions came on special teams, where Carter returned 15 kickoffs for 479 yards and 17 punts for 158 yards. Carter also lost one fumble. Josh Blackwell took over punt-return duties following Carter's injury. The veteran is now an unrestricted free agent.

Bears' DeAndre Carter: Placed on IR, done for season
Carter (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
It effectively ends Carter's 2024 season, as he'll be required to miss the team's final four contests after he was injured in Chicago's Week 14 loss to the 49ers. Carter finishes the year with nine catches for 72 yards on 14 targets. His main contributions came on special teams, where Carter returned 15 kickoffs for 479 yards and 17 punts for 158 yards. Carter also lost one fumble. Josh Blackwell took over punt-return duties following Carter's injury.

Bears' DeAndre Carter: Officially done for Sunday
Carter (hamstring) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's contest against the 49ers, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Carter went down with a hamstring injury in the first quarter and his day is now officially done in San Francisco. In his absence, Josh Blackwell will continue to operate in a more significant role on special teams.

Bears' DeAndre Carter: Unlikely to return Sunday
Carter (hamstring) is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Carter suffered a hamstring injury early in the first quarter on his first kickoff return and went back to the locker room. He's been the Bears' primary returner on kickoffs and special teams, and the only other player on the active roster with any return stats for Chicago this season is corner Josh Blackwell.
