Saints' Jabari Zuniga: Hanging up his cleats
Zuniga (undisclosed) has been placed on the reserve/retired list Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Zunigah has appeared in only 12 games over three seasons since being selected in the third round of the 2020 Draft by the Jets. It's unclear why he has chosen to retire now, but the Saints will retain his rights if he chooses to return to the field.

The Jets signed Zuniga (undisclosed) to the active roster Wednesday, after restoring him from the practice squad COVID-19 list.
Zuniga suited up for three games with the Jets this season, recording three tackles and one forced fumble. It looks like he will get another chance to play during Sunday's season finale against the Bills.

Jabari Zuniga: Lands on COVID list

Jets' Jabari Zuniga: Lifted from IR
The Jets activated Zuniga (quadriceps) from injured reserve Wednesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Zuniga was placed on IR before Week 1, and now the team will have a chance to see what their rookie third-round pick can do on the field. The 23-year-old defensive end had strong measurables (4.64-second 40, 127-inch broad jump) at the combine after being a four-year star at Florida, and he should operate as a situational player behind starters Henry Anderson and Quinnen Williams.

Jets' Jabari Zuniga: Heads to IR
The Jets placed Zuniga (quadriceps) on injured reserve Monday.
The rookie third-round pick will be forced to miss at least the first three games, but he could be available for Week 4's clash against the Broncos. Zuniga is slated to start in a reserve role once he gets healthy, as Quinnen Williams and Henry Anderson are seemingly locked into starting roles to begin the year.

Jets' Jabari Zuniga: Dealing with injury
Zuniga (quadriceps) sat out Friday's practice, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
The rookie third-round pick looks primed for a consistent role as an edge rusher in the Big Apple, as he recorded notable combine measurables and a solid collegiate career at Florida. He'll have to overcome this quad injury first, but he'll have plenty of time with the team's season opener Sept. 13 against Buffalo.

Jets' Jabari Zuniga: New York selects in third round
The Jets selected Zuniga in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 79th overall.
Zuniga (6-foot-3, 264) looks like a potential steal for the Jets, for whom he'll presumably play as an outside linebacker in base formations. The Florida product was a four-year standout who went on to impress at the combine with a 4.64-second 40-yard dash and 127-inch broad jump. For a draft class that reportedly lacked quality among its edge defenders, it's curious that Zuniga would last this long in the draft order.
