Smith dealt with a back issue throughout the week and was given a designation heading into the weekend after he was limited in practices Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full activity Friday. The standout right guard sounds like he'll be able to suit up and start in a marquee matchup versus the Bills.

Smith sat out the team's Week 8 win over the Commanders but was able to return to practice Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity. The 26-year-old will look to be good to go for Sunday's matchup, when he should return to his role as the Chiefs' starting right guard.

He was labeled questionable to return with a lower back injury. The potential loss of Smith is a serious blow to a Chiefs offensive line already without starting rookie left tackle Josh Simmons (personal).
