Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Cleared for primetime game
Ferguson (concussion) does not carry an injury designation ahead of Monday's matchup against the Bengals, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Ferguson was a full participant in Thursday's practice, clearing the way for the veteran to return from his two-game absence. Dak Prescott (hamstring) clearly had a chemistry with Ferguson, one that might not be as prevalent with backup quarterback Cooper Rush, but Ferguson's replacement, Luke Schoonmaker, did see 20 targets over the past three games. It's possible Ferguson will step right into the role that allowed Schoonmaker to have some fantasy relevance, and there figures to be plenty of passing opportunities come Monday against the porous Bengals defense.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Logs full practice Thursday
Ferguson (concussion) practiced in full Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
This marks Ferguson's first official practice since he sustained a concussion in the first quarter of a Week 11 loss to the Texans. With an uncapped session under his belt Thursday, he appears to be closing in on emerging from the protocol for head injuries, but it's unclear yet if he's gained clearance from an independent neurologist. In any case, Ferguson has plenty of time to do so ahead of Monday's game against the Bengals.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Trending up for Week 14
Ferguson (concussion) participated in Wednesday's walk-through session, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The Cowboys host the Bengals on Monday night in Week 14, so the team won't issue its first injury report until Thursday. Nonetheless, it was a positive sign for Ferguson's likelihood of returning to game action that he was able to take part Wednesday in what Moore deemed a "mock game." Ferguson has missed both of the Cowboys' past two contests after suffering a concussion Week 11 against Houston, and though he was on the field Wednesday, it's not yet certain whether he's cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Unavailable in Week 13
Ferguson (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday's contest against the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Ferguson thus will miss a second game in a row due to the concussion that he suffered in the first quarter of a Week 11 loss to the Texans. Considering he hasn't practiced since suffering the injury, he likely hasn't made much, if any, progress through league's five-step protocol. In any case, for as long as Ferguson is sidelined, Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford will continue to serve as the Cowboys' top tight ends.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Another missed practice Tuesday
Ferguson (concussion) did not practice Tuesday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports.
Per Todd Archer of ESPN.com, Ferguson was spotted working off to the side during the portion of Tuesday's practice that was open to the media, but the tight end hasn't progressed enough through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol to take part in non-contact drills. Ferguson appears to be trending toward missing a second straight game this Thursday against the Giants, with Cowboys executive Stephen Jones having already noted earlier in the week that the 25-year-old was "a little more of a long shot" to play Thanksgiving Day, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford would again handle tight end duties if Ferguson isn't cleared to play.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Long shot to play Thursday
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said Monday that Ferguson (concussion) is "a little more of a long shot" to play Thursday against the Giants, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Ferguson was concussed Week 11 against the Texans and just missed Sunday's Week 12 win over the Commanders after not practicing at all last week. The Cowboys now have a quick Week 13 turnaround, hosting the division rival Giants on Thanksgiving Day. Luke Schoonmaker played 65 percent of the offensive snaps against Washington and posted a useful 3-55-1 line on four targets in the victory. He and Brevyn Spann-Ford (50 percent, 2-24-0 line on two targets) again would handle TE duties without Ferguson.

Cowboys' Jake Ferguson: Still in concussion protocol
Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Ferguson remains in the concussion protocol, Joe Hoyt of AllDLLS.com reports.
Ferguson made an early exit from the Cowboys' Week 11 loss to the Texans due to a concussion, which resulted in inactive status Sunday at Washington. On Monday, executive vice president Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan that Ferguson is "a little more of a long shot" to play Thursday against the Giants, which was corroborated by his continued listing of DNP on Monday's practice estimate. Assuming Ferguson ends up missing a second game in a row later this week, Luke Schoonmaker (3-55-1 line on four targets, 65 percent snap share Sunday) and Brevyn Spann-Ford (2-24-0 on two targets, 50 percent) will continue to man tight end for Dallas.
