Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Not looking great for Week 1
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said last week that there's a "good chance" Overshown (knee) "may not be available" come Week 1 of the 2025 campaign, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Overshown had surgery Dec. 18 to address ACL, MCL and PCL tears in his right knee. He said his recovery timeline is nine months, which doesn't out a Week 1 appearance, although the timing and severity of his injury mean it won't come as any surprise if he isn't ready for the start of the season. The 2024 third-round pick had a fantastic rookie year pre-injury, starting 12 of his 13 games and recording 90 tackles (including 5.0 sacks), four pass defenses (including one interception), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Overshown logged four games in which he played every defensive snap and four others at 85 percent or higher, earning a three-down role within the first month of his pro career.

Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Plans to return before December
Overshown said Monday that the recovery timeline for his knee injury is nine months, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
After suffering a gruesome injury in Week 14 versus the Bengals that required surgery to repair the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee, Overshown's stated timetable for return seems optimistic. He was establishing himself as a key contributor for Dallas' defense this season before getting hurt, so he profiles as a starting candidate at inside linebacker whenever he's ready to play again.

Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Undergoes knee surgery
Overshown underwent a successful procedure Wednesday to repair the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
After the surgery, there's optimism Overshown could return to game action as soon as the middle of the 2025 season, an encouraging prognosis considering the nature of the injury he suffered in Week 14. In the meantime, promising rookie third-rounder Marist Liufau projects to continue to play a major role at linebacker.

This was a foregone conclusion, as Overshown is slated for surgery to repair the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee. The Texas product was enjoying a breakout campaign, tallying 90 tackles (including 5.0 sacks), a pick-six and a forced fumble prior to suffering the injury on Monday Night Football Week 14 against Cincinnati. It's not yet clear how long Overshown will need to rehab, but he's unlikely to be ready to play by the start of the 2025 campaign.

Overshown (knee) is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery after having torn the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee during Monday night's loss to Cincinnati. Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Overshown was enjoying a breakout Year 2 campaign prior to Monday's injury, having racked up 90 tackles (56 solo), inducing 5.0 sacks, across 13 appearances. The 2023 third-round pick also had four pass breakups, one interception (which he returned for a touchdown), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The timing of Overshown's severe knee injury is particularly brutal, as it seems likely to negatively impact his availability for the start of the 2025 campaign.

Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Won't return Monday
Overshown (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of Monday night's game against the Bengals, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Overshown had the full weight of the Bengals' Ted Karras fall on his right leg early in the fourth quarter. Overshown was helped off the field by trainers and was shortly ruled out after making it to the locker room, where he'll presumably get imaging done to learn the reveal the extent of the injury. Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Will need surgery on knee
Owner Jerry Jones said that Overshown will need surgery to address the knee injury he sustained during Monday's game versus the Bengals, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Also per Archer, the Cowboys fear that Overshown suffered damage to his right knee beyond a torn ACL. The team is still waiting for MRI results to confirm which specific ligaments were injured. It's all but a foregone conclusion that Overshown will spend the rest of the current campaign on injured reserve, which, in the meantime, would lead to an expanded role for rookie third-rounder Marist Liufau.

Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Appears to have serious injury
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said after Monday's loss to the Bengals that Overshown's right knee injury is of a "serious nature," Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Overshown hurt his knee in the fourth quarter of the loss to Cincinnati and didn't return to the contest. He left the locker room after the game on a cart and with a brace around his right knee, per Harris, and McCarthy's comments suggest the second-year defender's issue is more than short-term. Overshown was having a fantastic campaign prior to Monday, tallying 84 tackles -- including 5.0 sacks -- and a pick-six through 12 games. He didn't play in his rookie campaign after tearing the ACL in his left knee during the preseason.

Overshown had a career night against the Giants on Thanksgiving, when he logged nine tackles (five solo) and added a 23-yard interception return for a touchdown. Despite the additional rest, it appears the second-year linebacker is working through a hamstring issue.
