Top Max Duggan News

  • Max Duggan: Gets cut loose

Duggan was waived by the Chargers on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Duggan was selected in the seventh round by Los Angeles in the 2023 NFL Draft. After not making the team's initial 53-man roster, the TCU product spent the 2023 campaign on the team's practice squad. Duggan's departure leaves Easton Stick and Luis Perez behind starter Justin Herbert on the team's quarterback depth chart.

  • Chargers' Max Duggan: Signs deal with Los Angeles

The Chargers signed Duggan to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Selected 239th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft out of TCU, Duggan was cut ahead of Week 1 and spent the season mostly on the Chargers' practice squad. He was called up a couple times after Justin Herbert's injury but never appeared in a game. Duggan will compete for a backup job in the offseason.

  • Max Duggan: Back on Chargers' practice squad

Duggan signed with the Chargers' practice squad Wednesday.

Duggan has bounced between the Chargers' practice squad and active roster since the team drafted him in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. The rookie out of TCU suited up for last Saturday's 24-22 loss to the Bills, then got waived Monday before joining the practice squad Wednesday after passing through waivers unclaimed. Will Grier has since been added to the 53-man roster to replace Duggan as the backup to starting quarterback Easton Stick.

  • Max Duggan: Parts ways with Chargers

Los Angeles waived Duggan on Monday.

Duggan, a rookie seventh-round pick, has bounced between the Chargers' active roster and practice squad this season, albeit without appearing in a game for the team. Unless another team submits a waiver claim on Duggan, he will likely re-sign with Los Angeles' practice squad.

  • Chargers' Max Duggan: Emergency fill in

Duggan is listed as inactive for Saturday's contest against the Bills, but he is available as the team's emergency quarterback should that situation arise.

Duggan was signed to the active roster earlier this week due to Justin Herbert (finger) being done for the season. He'll fill in if Easton Stick and Will Grier were to get injured.

  • Chargers' Max Duggan: Signed to active roster

The Chargers signed Duggan to their active roster Friday.

This is the second time Duggan has signed to the Chargers' 53-man roster this season. He was waived by the Chargers on Dec. 18 before joining their practice squad two days later. He'll operate as the third quarterback behind Easton Stick and Will Grier.

  • Max Duggan: Signs to Chargers' practice squad

The Chargers signed Duggan to their practice squad Wednesday.

Duggan was waived by the Chargers on Monday, but he's now back with the organization as a practice squadder. As long as both Easton Stick and Will Grier remain available, Duggan is unlikely to make his NFL debut this season.

The Chargers waived Duggan on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

  • Chargers' Max Duggan: Joins Bolts' roster

Duggan signed with the Chargers' 53-man roster Tuesday.

Duggan will move up the team's depth chart at quarterback with Justin Herbert (finger) placed on injured reserve Tuesday. His move to the active roster should cement him as the team's No. 2 man on the depth chart behind Easton Stick, who will now take over the starting job in Herbert's absence.
