Top Bears News

  • Bears' Kyle Monangai: Held quiet on 11 carries

Monangai rushed the ball 11 times for 33 yards in Sunday's 31-3 win over the Browns. He wasn't able to catch either of his two targets.

Monangai split carries evenly with D'Andre Swift throughout the first half, accounting for eight of his 11 carries. However, Swift saw nine carries in the final two quarters as opposed to only three for Monangai. While he's still seen double-digit carries in five consecutive games, it appears clear that Swift remains the lead back in Chicago, meaning Monangai will be reliant on finding the end zone and rushing efficiency to put up viable fantasy performances. He didn't do either in Sunday's blowout win, leading to a disappointing stat line.

  • Bears' Caleb Williams: Efficient in easy victory

Williams completed 17 of 28 passes for 242 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 31-3 win over the Browns. He added three rushes for 13 yards.

Williams had one of the more efficient showings of his career, averaging a solid 8.6 yards per attempt while also completing four passes of at least 20 yards. The highlight of his performance came on a 22-yard touchdown connection with D.J. Moore, when Williams split two defenders on a throw to the corner of the end zone while fading away on a rollout midway through the third quarter. The only thing slowing Williams down was game script, as he attempted only 10 passes in the second half with the Bears up by three scores for most of that span. He now has multiple touchdowns in three of his last four games, with this marking his highest yardage total since Week 9.

  • Bears' D'Andre Swift: Scores twice in blowout win

Swift rushed the ball 18 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-3 win over the Browns. He added one reception on one target for minus-two yards.

Swift split carries with Kyle Monanagi through the first half, but the Bears relied upon him heavily to close out the game. He enjoyed a big second half as a result, picking up 56 yards on nine carries, highlighted by a 17-yard score late in the third quarter. Swift also punched in a score midway through the first quarter, giving him his first multi-touchdown performance of the season. He's now recorded at least 80 yards from scrimmage in five of his last six games.

  • Bears' Amen Ogbongbemiga: Exits with hamstring issue Week 15

Ogbongbemiga is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Cleveland due to a hamstring injury.

Ogbongbemiga was deemed questionable to return early in the fourth quarter. With fellow linebacker Ruben Hyppolite (coach's decision) inactive Sunday, Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Noah Sewell may see more defensive snaps.

  • Bears' Luther Burden: Injures ankle Sunday

Burden sustained an ankle injury during Sunday's game versus the Browns.

With fellow WR Rome Odunze (foot) ruled out shortly before kickoff, Burden and the rest of the Bears' receiving corps experienced a potential uptick in usage, and Burden responded with six catches (on seven targets) for 84 yards before exiting in the third quarter. This new health concern combined with the fact Jahdae Walker was a healthy scratch means DJ Moore, Olamide Zaccheaus and Devin Duvernay are the only healthy and available options at the position.

  • Bears' Rome Odunze: Out Sunday after late setback

Odunze aggravated the stress fracture in his foot during pregame warmups and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com reports.

After sitting out the Bears' Week 14 loss to the Packers, Odunze had been listed as questionable heading into Sunday following a trio of limited practices. The Bears felt comfortable making Odunze active for the contest, but they'll ultimately have to play a man down as a result of his late setback. With Odunze unavailable, Chicago will be left with receivers DJ Moore, Luther Burden and Olamide Zaccheaus and tight ends Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet as its main pass-catching options.

  • Bears' Ruben Hyppolite: Healthy scratch for Week 15

Hyppolite (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Cleveland.

Hyppolite has been dealing with a shoulder issue of late and missed Chicago's past two games, but he didn't have an injury designation heading into this weekend. As such, his inactive status Sunday appears to be a healthy scratch. The rookie hasn't made much of an impact this season and may be getting squeezed out of the Bears' defensive rotation.

  • Bears' Jahdae Walker: Inactive for Week 15

Walker (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch for Sunday's battle against the Browns.

This is not out of the norm for Walker, who has played in just six of Chicago's 13 contests so far this season. When he has suited up, most of Walker's work has come on special teams, so the rookie's inactive status Sunday should have almost no bearing on the Bears' offense.

  • Bears' Case Keenum: Serving as No. 2 QB versus Browns

Keenum will back up Caleb Williams at quarterback in Week 15, as Tyson Bagent is inactive due to an illness, Mark Carman of the CHGO Bears podcast reports.

Keenum has regularly served as Chicago's emergency third QB this season, but he'll bump up to the No. 2 role with Bagent unable to suit up. Keenum has plenty of pro experience in case he needs to enter the contest, but he hasn't thrown an NFL regular-season pass since 2023.

  • Bears' Tyson Bagent: Sent home Sunday due to illness

Bagent is inactive for Sunday's Week 15 matchup against Cleveland due to an illness.

Bagent was added to the injury report early Sunday because of the illness, and Mark Carman of the CHGO Bears podcast indicates Chicago decided to send the quarterback home. As such, Case Keenum will serve as the Bears' backup QB behind Caleb Williams on Sunday.

  • Bears' Rome Odunze: Back in action Sunday

Odunze (foot) is listed as active Sunday against the Browns.

Odunze didn't practice at all during Week 14 prep and was ruled out ahead of last Sunday's loss at Green Bay. Not long after that, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Odunze had been playing through a stress fracture in his foot and was considered week-to-week. After being listed as limited Wednesday through Friday and entering the weekend as questionable, Odunze's outlook brightened Saturday when a report from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com relayed that the Bears were optimistic of the second-year wide receiver's odds to return this weekend. Now that that has come to pass, Odunze will rejoin a Bears pass-catching group that includes WRs DJ Moore, Luther Burden and Olamide Zaccheaus, TEs Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet and even RBs D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, all of whom are healthy at the moment. In any case, since opening the season with a 20-296-5 line on 35 targets before Chicago's Week 5 bye, Odunze has managed just a 24-365-1 line on 55 targets over his last eight appearances, making him a hit-or-miss option for fantasy purposes.

  • Bears' Tyson Bagent: Falls ill, iffy for Sunday

The Bears added Bagent to the injury report and list him as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns due to an illness.

Bagent has served as the Bears' No. 2 quarterback throughout the season, but if the ailment prevents him from suiting up Sunday, Case Keenum would step in as the top backup to starter Caleb Williams.
