Saints' Jordyn Tyson: Injury timetable TBD, could impact Week 1 status
Coach Kellen Moore acknowledged that Tyson's right hamstring injury "could" linger into the start of the regular season, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
"We've just got to let these experts evaluate this and then we'll put together a plan," Moore said. "Not going to jump to conclusions. I don't have a doctor in front of my name, so I'm not going to jump to put together a timeline on it." Tyson -- who is reportedly seeking multiple opinions, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network -- was injured in practice Thursday and has dealt with hamstring issues in the past. If he's unable to play Week 1 against the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 13, the Saints would need to lean more on Devaughn Vele and rookie Bryce Lance behind Chris Olave.

Saints' Jordyn Tyson: Hamstring injury confirmed by coach
Coach Kellen Moore confirmed Friday that Tyson is dealing with a right hamstring injury, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Tyson missed time over the spring with an injury but was cleared for the start of training camp last month. He has an injury history with the hamstring, but Moore indicated the new injury isn't related to the one Tyson dealt with prior to the 2026 Draft. The Saints are gathering more information, with Moore noting that the team "will know more in the next few days," but it sounds like Tyson could be dealing with a multi-week injury as Week 1 approaches. New Orleans kicks off its regular season with a road game against the Lions on Sept. 13.

Saints' Spencer Rattler: Draws Saturday preseason start
Rattler will start Saturday's preseason game against the Jaguars, per Saints head coach Kellen Moore.
Rattler will get the first opportunity to make his case for the backup role behind Tyler Shough. Zach Wilson is competing for the second spot on the Saints' quarterback depth chart as well, and New Orleans also has Hunter Dekkers in the QB room. Rattler and Wilson are likely to both see plenty of preseason action as the Saints sort out their backup QB situation.

Saints' Jordyn Tyson: Exits Thursday's practice with injury
Tyson exited Thursday's practice early due to a possible hamstring injury, per Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football, though it isn't believed to be a serious issue, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
The biggest knock on Tyson coming out of Arizona was his lengthy injury history, including a hamstring injury suffered prior to the 2026 NFL Draft, in which the Saints selected Tyson eighth overall. It's not clear whether this latest hamstring issue is related to the previous injury. The team's early optimism suggests Tyson's availability for Week 1 against the Lions doesn't appear to be in jeopardy, but the rookie first-round pick is unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Jaguars.

Saints' Dillon Radunz: Placed on IR
Radunz (knee) was placed on injured reserve by the Saints on Wednesday.
Radunz suffered a torn ACL at practice on Saturday, so his placement on injured reserve was expected. The offensive lineman will now officially shift his focus to rehabbing the injury and being ready to go for training camp in 2027.

Saints coach Kellen Moore said Thursday's joint practice with the Jaguars will be where Shough and other key players get their chance to square off with opponents. Moore did leave the door open for borderline starters to suit up, but it sounds like Shough, Chris Olave, Travis Etienne, etc. will all be held out.

Kamara and Travis Etienne are listed as co-RB1s on the Saints' first unofficial depth chart of training camp, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
This comes as a bit of a surprise considering Etienne signed a big money deal (four years, $52 million) to join the Saints in the offseason, while Kamara agreed to a reworked contract (one year, $6 million) in mid-July to remain with the only team he's over known. However, Kamara has been taking on more of the passing-down reps during camp, with Etienne handling early downs, and how the running backs are listed on the depth chart suggests both will have regular roles in the offense. That said, the initial depth chart might simply be a sign of respect for a franchise icon as Kamara enters what could be his final season in New Orleans.

Saints' Cameron Jordan: Unknown timetable for return
Jordan (hamstring) could potentially be sidelined into the regular season, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Head coach Kellen Moore indicated Tuesday that Jordan could miss the start of the regular season with a hamstring injury he suffered at practice last Thursday, but at the very least he's expected to miss a chunk of training camp. Entering his 16th season in the league, the 37-year-old was still slated to start as a defensive end for New Orleans after totaling 47 tackles, including 10.5 sacks, last season. With Jordan's injury, the already depleted Saints defensive front will see more snaps from second-year defensive end Vernon Broughton while he recovers.

Saints' Derek Carr: Accepts adviser position at UCLA
UCLA football announced Monday that Carr has joined the program as a special adviser to head coach Bob Chesney, Paolo Uggetti of ESPN.com reports.
The 35-year-old quarterback remains on the Saints' reserve/retired list for now. Carr noted during an appearance on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" earlier this summer that he wouldn't completely close the door on a return to the NFL if the right opportunity presented itself, but that now appears far less likely to happen.

Saints' Tyler Shough: Looking more comfortable in Year 2
Shough has looked noticeably more comfortable and in command of the offense entering his second season, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
After competing with Spencer Rattler for the starting job last summer as a rookie, Shough has the keys to the offense headed into the 2026 regular season after he completed 67.6 percent of his passes for 2,384 yards and a 10:6 TD:INT over the second half of last season once he took hold of the job from Rattler. The Saints have since added first-round WR Jordyn Tyson and free-agent pickup Travis Etienne to Shough's arsenal, putting the pieces around him to build on his impressive rookie season. Shough is an upside pick in the later rounds of fantasy drafts. He's got continuity with coach Kellen Moore and is playing in what should be one of the league's fastest-paced offenses.
