Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Limited action in NFL debut
Allen turned four carries into 16 yards during the Commanders' 24-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Allen didn't record his first NFL carry until the third quarter, though he did log three rushes for 11 yards during the Commanders' final offensive drive of the game. The rookie sixth-rounder played only seven snaps on offense, well behind fellow running backs Jacory Croskey-Merritt (34) and Rachaad White (29). Allen figures to see limited work out of the Commanders' backfield this season unless one or both of Croskey-Merrit and White were to miss time. Commanders' John Bates: Two catches in loss
Bates caught two of three targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Eagles.
Bates started along with Chig Okonkwo at tight end, and he garnered more than two targets in a regular-season game for the first time since Week 9 of the 2025 campaign. Bates was on the field for 34 of the team's 70 total offensive snaps while also logging 15 more snaps on special teams.

Commanders' Dyami Brown: Held without catch Week 1
Brown failed to haul in either of his two targets during the Commanders' 24-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Brown played 37 of 70 offensive snaps (52.9 percent), which was third-most among Commanders wide receivers behind Terry McLaurin (61) and Stefon Diggs (44). However, Brown was unable reel in the two passes he saw from Jayden Daniels, whereas rookie third-rounder Antonio Williams finished with a 4-66-1 receiving line despite playing only 26 offensive snaps. Brown will look for better results in Washington's Week 2 clash against Dallas on Sept. 20.

Commanders' Antonio Williams: Catches TD in NFL debut
Williams hauled in all four of his targets for 64 yards and a touchdown during the Commanders' 24-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Williams played only 26 of 70 offensive snaps (37.1 percent), which was fourth-most among Commanders wide receivers in Sunday's loss. However, the rookie third-rounder ended up leading the Commanders in receiving yards while finishing second behind veteran Stefon Diggs in targets (nine). Williams was close to scoring on his first NFL catch for 16 yards late in the second quarter, falling short of the goal line before Jacory Croskey-Merritt punched the ball in on a one-yard rushing touchdown on the next play. Williams followed that up with a 33-yard catch early in the fourth quarter before hauling in a one-yard touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels late in the frame. It was an encouraging NFL debut from Williams, who may have benefited from the Eagles' secondary focusing on limiting Terry McLaurin, though the former may have shown enough against Philadelphia to warrant additional playing time moving forward. The Commanders will stay on the road for their Week 2 clash against the Cowboys on Sept. 20.

Commanders' Dorance Armstrong: Reinstated from suspension
Armstrong was reinstated from his one-game suspension Monday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Armstrong was suspended for one game to open the 2026 campaign after violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, so he was unavailable for Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Eagles. Armstrong will likely return to his starting role at strongside linebacker in Week 2 versus the Cowboys.

Commanders' Stefon Diggs: Catches TD in first game with Commanders
Diggs brought in four of nine targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in a Week 1 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Diggs' nine targets were more than double the amount of any other Washington player. While the veteran wideout wasn't very efficient with those targets, he finished second on the team in receiving yards and put up a strong fantasy score thanks to a 10-yard TD connection with Jayden Daniels in the fourth quarter. Fantasy managers who roster Diggs should be encouraged by the amount of attention he got from Daniels in the pair's first regular-season action together, while presumed top WR Terry McLaurin totaled just two catches on four targets. McLaurin figures to be more involved most weeks, but Diggs showed Sunday that he can still be a viable fantasy wideout with his new club.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Held in check during Week 1 loss
McLaurin caught two of four targets for 14 yards against Philadelphia in a loss Sunday.
McLaurin surprisingly took a back seat to third-round rookie Antonio Williams (4-61-1) and veteran Stefon Diggs (4-55-1) in the season opener. McLaurin had as many targets (four) as Williams but logged less than half as many as Diggs' nine. It's expected that McLaurin will serve as the Commanders' No. 1 wideout again this year, but with Diggs and Williams both new to the receiving corps, it remains to be seen how QB Jayden Daniels will adjust his distribution of targets. McLaurin will look for a more robust line in Week 2, when Washington will face the Cowboys, who gave up the most passing yards in the league last year.

Commanders' Rachaad White: Quiet in Commanders debut
White rushed seven times for 22 yards and caught two of three targets for five yards in Sunday's loss to Dallas in Week 1.
White had a long run of nine yards but was held to 13 yards across his other six carries. He did see a substantial amount of action, logging 27 offensive snaps to Jacory Croskey-Merritt's 33, with Kaytron Allen mixing in for six snaps. White was the only one of the trio to gain positive yards through the air, and he's likely to feature as the Commanders' top pass-catching back in 2026 while mostly deferring to Croskey-Merritt on the ground.

Commanders' Jacory Croskey-Merritt: Gets into end zone in Week 1 win
Croskey-Merritt rushed 16 times for 63 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for a seven-yard loss in a defeat to the Eagles on Sunday.
Croskey-Merritt scored Washington's only touchdown of the first half when he plunged into the end zone for a one-yard score late in the second quarter. However, he averaged just 3.9 yards per carry and also lost a fumble, though the Commanders were able to recover. Croskey-Merritt served as Washington's clear No. 1 back in terms of totes, with Rachaad White (seven carries for 22 yards) and Kaytron Allen (four carries for 16 yards) working behind him, though White's pass-catching role did garner him 27 offensive snaps to Croskey-Merritt's 33. The Commanders will take on Dallas in a Week 2 clash next Sunday.

Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Emerges in second half of Week 1 loss
Daniels completed 18 of 34 pass attempts for 164 yards and two touchdowns while rushing five times for 31 yards Sunday in a loss to Philadelphia.
Daniels had a rough first half, completing just six of 16 passes for 43 yards. He was much better after the break, and Daniels was particularly effective in the fourth quarter, when he tossed both of his touchdown passes. This was far from a dominant performance by the third-year QB, but fantasy managers who roster him should at least be relieved that he rescued his line late in the game. Daniels draws a Week 2 matchup versus the Cowboys -- who gave up the most passing yards in the NFL last season -- next Sunday.

Magee is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Eagles due to a hamstring injury.
Magee -- who has been filling in on defense following the exit of Frankie Luvu (groin) -- appeared to sustain the injury during a Jalen Hurts scramble in the fourth quarter. Leo Chenal figures to see an uptick in defensive snaps next to Sonny Styles for as long as Magee is out of action.
