  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Expects to play

Stamkos (undisclosed) expects to play in Saturday's matchup against Washington, Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean reports. Stamkos participated in Saturday's morning skate after skipping Thursday's session for maintenance. Coach Andrew Brunette called Stamkos a game-time decision for Saturday's contest but added that the 34-year-old forward appeared on track to play, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site. Stamkos left Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Winnipeg as a precaution. He has accounted for 12 goals, 25 points, 88 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and 34 hits in 41 games this season. Nashville recalled Kieffer Bellows from AHL Milwaukee on Saturday for additional insurance.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Absence considered maintence

Stamkos' (undisclosed) absence from Thursday's practice was deemed maintenance according to Robby Stanley of NHL.com. Considering Stamkos was unable to finish Tuesday's matchup with Winnipeg due to his undisclosed injury, it is a little strange for the Predators to call his absence from practice a maintenance day. Still, they aren't back in action until Saturday's game against the Capitals, so the veteran center should have plenty of time to get back to 100 percent and avoid missing any action.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Dealing with injury

Stamkos (undisclosed) didn't finish Tuesday's game versus the Jets, and there was no update on his status following the contest, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Stamkos was hurt in the second period and didn't play in the third. He was also held off the scoresheet, ending a three-game point streak. More information on Stamkos' status should be available prior to Saturday's game at home against the Capitals. Since Luke Evangelista (lower body) also got hurt Tuesday, the Predators may need to make some moves later in the week to replenish their forward group, though Zachary L'Heureux will be back from a suspension Saturday.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Scores goal Thursday

Stamkos scored a power-play goal on three shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins. Stamkos extended his point streak to five games (two goals, four assists) with the second-period tally, which put Nashville ahead 3-1. Stamkos is up to nine goals, 19 points, 77 shots on net, 28 hits, 21 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a minus-13 rating over 33 appearances. Still, he'd have to go on a massive run to avoid missing the point-per-game mark for the first time since 2020-21 and the first time in a full-length season since 2015-16.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Sparks offense in win

Stamkos collected two assists in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Rangers. He set up tallies by Jonathan Marchessault in the first period and Adam Wilsby in the third, and Stamkos extended his current point streak to a modest four games in the process. The 34-year-old center has struggled overall in his first season away from Tampa Bay, but he may be getting more comfortable in Nashville -- over the last 14 contests, Stamkos has produced four goals and 10 points with 27 shots on net, 13 blocked shots, 12 hits and a plus-minus rating of zero.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Scores in Saturday's loss

Stamkos scored a goal on five shots and went minus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche. Stamkos has a goal and two assists over the last three games. Stamkos is up to eight goals, 16 points, 73 shots on net, 27 hits, 20 PIM and a minus-15 rating through 31 appearances. The 34-year-old forward has 14 points, 68 shots, 26 hits, 18 PIM and a minus-14 rating over 29 appearances. Stamkos logged a power-play assist, four shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Wild. Stamkos has three goals and two assists over his last seven contests, with four of those five points coming on the power play. Stamkos is at 13 points (nine on the power play), 63 shots on net, 23 hits and a minus-14 rating over his first 25 appearances with Nashville.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Strikes twice on power play

Stamkos scored a pair of power-play goals in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Canucks. Stamkos tied the game at 2-2 midway through the second period and added another goal -- the eventual game-winner -- with 22 seconds left in the frame. He had been held off the scoresheet in his previous three contests before earning his third multi-point effort of the campaign Sunday. The 34-year-old now has six goals, 10 points (eight on the power play), 50 shots on net, 15 hits and a minus-13 rating over 19 games. Stamkos still has the talent to make a big impact, but it's clear he and his new teammates are still getting used to each other.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Adds power-play helper

Stamkos recorded a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over Utah. Stamkos has made noise with the man advantage in November, earning four of his five points this month on the power play. He's also taken a minus-2 rating and added 10 shots on net. The 34-year-old is up to eight points (six on the power play), 42 shots, 15 hits and a minus-10 rating through 15 contests. Stamkos is playing on the top line, but it would be encouraging to see him and his Predators teammates start to generate more even-strength offense.

Stamkos scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers. Stamkos endured a rough start to the season with just one goal in his first eight games, but he's turning things around of late. Aside from cracking the scoresheet in four of his last six appearances, the 34-year-old has found the back of the net three times over his last four. He's still producing at a subpar rate for someone of his stature, though, notching just seven points in 14 contests.

Stamkos scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Capitals. Stamkos was moved up to the top line for Wednesday's game, swapping places with Gustav Nyquist. • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Two apples can't keep Bolts away

Stamkos picked up two assists Monday in a 3-2 overtime loss to Tampa Bay. It was Stammer's first trip back to face the team that drafted him, and it was an emotional one. During a break in the action, the Lightning played a tribute video and fans and the entire Bolts' team and staff stood and applauded a visibly emotional Stamkos. He's had a slow start to 2024-25 -- the assists were his first of the season, and he only has three points in nine games. Stick with him -- he'll deliver soon enough. Transitioning to a new team is never easy.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Finally finds twine

Stamkos potted a power-play goal in Saturday's 5-2 loss to Detroit. Stamkos' first point as a member of the Predators tied the game at 2-2 in the opening minute of the third period. However, the Red Wings scored three unanswered markers, including two empty-netters, to claim the victory. Stamkos also had six shots in Saturday's appearance, giving him 20 on the year.

  • Predators' Steven Stamkos: Cold start to season

Stamkos has failed to record a point through the first four games of the season. The Predators' biggest signing in free agency is still looking for chemistry with his new teammates. There's reason to think Stamkos has just been unlucky -- he has 14 shots on net so far. At last year's 15.3 shooting percentage, he would have netted two goals with his average luck. Fantasy managers may want to buy low on Stamkos, as there probably won't be any looking back once his offense comes to life.
