  • Oilers' Evander Kane: Out indefinitely following surgery

Kane (hip) underwent surgery in New York City on Friday to address multiple injuries sustained from playing through a sports hernia last season and isn't expected to play in the 2024 calendar year, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

According to Derek Van Diest of NHL.com, Kane told reporters Wednesday that he needed to undergo procedures to repair two torn hip adductor muscles, two hernias and two torn lower abdominal muscles. • Oilers' Evander Kane: Surgery confirmed

Kane (hip), as expected, is set to have surgery as confirmed by general manager Stan Bowman, per Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network on Wednesday.

Until the procedure happens, it's hard to know how long Kane will be on the shelf, but fantasy managers can almost certainly anticipate he'll be out of action until at least November at a minimum. As a result, Kane should land on LTIR once the season kicks off.
