Canadiens' Juraj Slafkovsky: Scores again Tuesday
Slafkovsky scored a goal on two shots, added four hits and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Hurricanes.
Slafkovsky has scored in back-to-back games and has points in three straight. The 20-year-old winger has also turned up the physicality as he looks to model his game into that of a power forward. He had some rough stretches in November and December, but Slafkovsky appears poised to evolve his playing style to adapt to the rigors of the league. He's up to 10 goals, 22 assists, 78 shots on net, 133 hits, 25 PIM and a minus-8 rating over 55 appearances. A strong finish to 2024-25 likely won't be enough for the Canadiens in the playoff race, but it bodes well for Slafkovsky having the right mentality moving forward.

He is on pace to fall short of the 20-goal and 50-point marks he achieved in 2023-24, making this a disappointing third campaign for the No. 1 pick from 2022.

Canadiens' Juraj Slafkovsky: Manages assist Friday
Slafkovsky provided an assist in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Capitals.
Slafkovsky set up Cole Caufield's tally in the second period. Overall, Slafkovsky has four goals, 19 helpers, 47 shots on net, 86 hits and a minus-10 rating through 38 appearances. He's a little behind the pace that saw him record 50 points in 2023-24, though that's largely due to a decrease from shooting 13.2 percent last season to 8.5 percent this year while also dropping from 1.85 to 1.23 shots per game.

Slafkovsky finished with just 13:25 TOI, his lowest since late November, a portion of the season when head coach Martin St. Louis benched the forward in a game and had him skating on the fourth line. There were no reports of an injury Saturday, so the lack of ice time appears to be a coach's decision.

Canadiens' Juraj Slafkovsky: Produces helper in shootout win
Slafkovsky notched an assist and two hits in Monday's 3-2 shootout win over the Ducks.
The assist was Slafkovsky's first point over five games in December. The 20-year-old winger has gotten on the scoresheet in back-to-back games just twice this year, and he has four multi-point efforts -- that's offense in short bursts rather than on a consistent basis. Overall, he's at two goals, 13 helpers, 31 shots on net, 67 hits and a minus-8 rating through 25 appearances. Slafkovsky averaged nearly two shots per game and converted at 13.2 percent in a 20-goal, 50-point 2023-24, but this year, he's at 1.2 shots per game at a 6.5 percent conversion rate, which explains the bulk of his struggles.
