Laferriere ended a seven-game point drought with a helper on Quinton Byfield's second-period tally. The 23-year-old Laferriere has had some good stretches this season, but his best run of play was the first month of the campaign. Since the start of January, he has just six points with 59 shots and 31 hits in 22 appearances. Overall, he's produced 32 points, 140 shots on net, 98 hits and a plus-12 rating over 58 contests.

Laferriere's goal at 16:10 of the second period gave the Kings the lead for the first time in the game. The 23-year-old winger has two goals and a helper over five outings in February and continues to make a decent impact from a third-line role. There's been no sophomore slump for Laferriere, who blends scoring and physicality into a fantasy-friendly production level in a balanced offensive lineup.

Laferriere had missed four games due to an upper-body injury and went five contests without a point prior to the absence. The 23-year-old winger returned to a third-line role but saw 17:11 of ice time Saturday. He was fantastic early in the campaign, and while Laferriere's production has slowed in the middle section, he's still at 13 goals, 14 assists and a plus-11 rating through 42 contests, surpassing his totals in those areas from his 81-game rookie campaign in 2023-24. He's added 93 shots on net and 75 hits in 2024-25, providing a little grit down the lineup.

In addition to being ruled out for Monday's matchup, Laferriere is unlikely to play Wednesday against the Panthers, but he still appears to be trending in the right direction. Laferriere scored the tying goal at 13:23 of the third period on a rebound from in tight while Darcy Kuemper was on the bench for an extra attacker during a delayed penalty. The goal set a new career mark for Laferriere, who had notched 12 last season in 81 games. This season, it took just 33 games to get 13. Laferriere has three points (one goal, two assists) across his last two outings, and he has 25 (13 goals, 12 assists) in those 33 appearances this year. His 18.3 shooting percentage remains unsustainable, but keep him flying until that starts to settle.
