Avalanche's Trent Miner: Logs shutout in AHL play
Miner notched a 35-save shutout in AHL Colorado's 3-0 win over Henderson on Saturday.
This was Miner's first shutout in 12 appearances at the AHL level this season. Due to various injuries to the Avalanche's goalies, he's spent a lot of time in the backup role in the NHL. He's 8-2-1 with a 2.22 GAA and a .919 save percentage in the AHL, so he's more than capable of handling the responsibility of being Colorado's organizational No. 3 goalie.

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Finds twine in loss
Necas scored a goal on two shots, blocked three shots and went minus-2 in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Predators.
Necas has three goals and two assists over his last four contests. His tally Friday got the Avalanche back within a goal early in the third period, but they couldn't tie the game. The 27-year-old is up to 22 goals, 58 points, 107 shots on net, 48 hits, 26 PIM, 17 blocked shots and a plus-39 rating over 46 appearances. Necas is well on his way to a career year, though he could regress a bit from his 20.6 shooting percentage.

Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Two more goals in loss
Nelson scored two goals on four shots, blocked two shots and went minus-3 in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Predators.
Nelson provided the answers to the first two of Ryan O'Reilly's goals, but the Avalanche couldn't keep pace after the first period. The 34-year-old Nelson is in the midst of a sizzling stretch, where he has 11 goals and seven assists over 12 contests. For the season, he's up to 24 goals, 40 points, 102 shots on net, 38 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating over 46 appearances.

Avalanche's Mackenzie Blackwood: Stunned by Nashville
Blackwood gave up five goals on 28 shots in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Predators. The last two goals were empty-netters.
Blackwood's return from a lower-body injury didn't go as planned, as he instead had his worst outing of the season. Prior to the injury, he had rattled off seven straight wins, allowing a total of 13 goals in that span. The 29-year-old netminder is likely set to resume sharing the crease with Scott Wedgewood moving forward, though the Avalanche's recent shaky play could open the door for one goalie or the other to claim more of a starting role with a hot streak. Blackwood is 13-2-1 with a 2.26 GAA and a .917 save percentage over 16 appearances. The Avalanche are set to host the Capitals on Monday.

Avalanche's Ivan Ivan: Sent back down
Ivan was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Friday.
Ivan played in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Predators but didn't record a point. The 23-year-old has shuffled between leagues frequently as the Avalanche look to accrue cap savings and also make sure young players continue to get plenty of ice time in the AHL. The Avalanche's next game is Monday versus the Capitals, so Ivan should have no trouble getting the necessary appearance with the Eagles before potentially getting another recall.

Avalanche's Christian Humphreys: Three more points in OHL win
Humphreys scored a goal and added two assists in OHL Kitchener's 7-4 win over Saginaw on Friday.
Humphreys is on an eight-game point streak with four goals and 11 assists in that span. For the season, the Avalanche prospect is up to 15 goals, 37 helpers and a plus-11 rating through 39 outings. That's good for a tie for fourth in points in the OHL through Friday's action.

Avalanche's Ross Colton: Playing Friday
Colton (upper body) will be in the lineup versus the Predators on Friday, Conor McGahey of Altitude TV reports.
Colton was in doubt for Friday's clash but seems to be good to go after shaking off his upper-body issue. The 29-year-old forward might be the veteran piece of the Avs' fourth line alongside Ivan Ivan and Zakhar Bardakov. Without a role further up the depth chart, Colton is unlikely to offer more than mid-range fantasy value at best.
