Red Wings' Erik Gustafsson: Recalled from AHL
Gustafsson was summoned from AHL Grand Rapids on Thursday.
Gustafsson played well in Grand Rapids this season, tallying a pair of goals, 18 assists and a plus-18 rating in 22 AHL contests. The Red Wings are down to 12 healthy forwards, and it's possible that Gustafsson could see some action up front if the team runs into an injury problem ahead of its game versus San Jose on Friday.

Red Wings' Sheldon Dries: Returns to minors
Dries was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Wednesday.
Dries was a healthy scratch for three straight games after being recalled from the minors last Friday. The 31-year-old has 11 goals and 25 points in 26 outings with Grand Rapids in 2025-26.

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Gets no help in Tuesday's loss
Talbot turned aside 38 of 40 shots in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Bruins, with Boston's final goal getting scored into an empty net.
Talbot didn't have much chance on either of the pucks that got past him, and the Red Wings left their offense on the plane in Boston. It was the veteran netminder's first regulation loss since Dec. 17, and he has gone 2-1-1 in his last four outings. On the season, Talbot is 11-7-3 in 22 appearances with a 2.95 GAA and an .892 save percentage.

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Getting start in Boston
Talbot will guard the road goal versus the Bruins on Tuesday, Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports.
Talbot hasn't appeared in any of the last five games, with John Gibson in goal for those contests with a 4-1-0 record over that span. The 38-year-old Talbot has won two of his last five outings, allowing 15 goals on 147 shots in that stretch, but it's clear he's in the backup role currently.

Red Wings' Albert Johansson: Nets first goal of season
Johansson scored a goal, added two PIM and blocked two shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes.
Johansson has picked up the pace with four points over his last 12 games. While that's not a particularly notable scoring rate, that stretch accounts for more than half of his offense this season. He's at seven points, 31 shots on net, 36 hits, 64 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating through 47 appearances while seeing bottom-four minutes.

Red Wings' James van Riemsdyk: Opens scoring on power play
Van Riemsdyk scored a power-play goal on three shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes.
Van Riemsdyk has a four-game point streak active, logging two goals and five assists in that span. He continues to be an effective finisher on the power play, which is where he's collected five of his 12 goals this season. The veteran winger is at 19 points, 68 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 38 outings in 2025-26.

Red Wings' Andrew Copp: Two points including OT winner
Copp scored the overtime winner and added an assist in Monday's 4-3 victory over the Hurricanes.
The goal wasn't without controversy, as Copp clearly cross-checked Shayne Gostisbehere in the back and knocked him to the ice to create space for himself in front of Frederik Andersen before banging home a feed from Alex DeBrincat, but the refs kept their whistles in their pockets. It was Copp's first GWG of the season, and he's been thriving in a top-six role for Detroit, collecting five goals and 12 points over the last 12 games.

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Three-point effort in OT win
DeBrincat produced a goal and two assists in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over Carolina.
The 28-year-old winger gave Detroit a 2-0 lead early in the second period before helping to set up the team's final two tallies, including Andrew Copp's OT winner. DeBrincat has delivered back-to-back three-point performances, snapping out of a dry spell that had seen him scratch out just two goals and four points over the prior 11 contests. On the season, he has 24 goals and 49 points in 47 games as he remains on track for a career-best campaign.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Hangs on for OT win
Gibson stopped 31 shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes.
The veteran netminder took a shutout into the third period, but Carolina's special teams forced OT with two power-play tallies and a shortie. Andrew Copp was able to bail Gibson out with the OT winner, however. Gibson has won four straight starts, and since the beginning of December, he's gone 13-2-0 in 15 outings with a dazzling 2.07 GAA and .930 save percentage.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Leaves ice first
Gibson was the first goalie off the ice Monday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports, indicating he'll be between the pipes at home versus the Hurricanes.
Gibson is riding a three-game winning streak, during which he has allowed just four goals on 88 shots while posting one shutout. The veteran netminder has 16 victories this year, which is already his highest total since the 2021-22 campaign. If Gibson can get to the 25-win mark, which seems pretty likely, it would be the first time he's reached that threshold since 2018-19.

Red Wings' Lucas Raymond: Opens scoring in win
Raymond scored a goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens.
Raymond opened the scoring at 4:52 of the second period, and John Gibson made it stand as the game-winner. This was Raymond's third straight game with a goal after he was limited to three tallies in 15 outings in December, though he also had 13 assists. The winger is up to a total of 14 goals, 48 points, 94 shots on net and a plus-7 rating across 44 appearances this season, putting him on track to top the 80-point total he produced in 2024-25.

Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Scores PP goal Saturday
Larkin scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens. He also added an even-strength assist.
Larkin gave the Red Wings a 2-0 lead midway through the second period with a snap shot. It was his 23rd goal of the campaign, and he'd later add an assist on Andrew Copp's empty-netter in the final frame. Larkin has cracked the scoresheet in five of the Red Wings' last five games and is up to 42 points (23 goals, 19 assists) in 46 contests this season.

Red Wings' Andrew Copp: Post empty-netter
Copp scored an empty-net goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens.
Copp found the back of the net late in the third period, as he took advantage of the Canadiens' extra attacker to fire an empty-netter. He has amassed four goals and 10 points in his last 11 outings, thanks in large part to three multi-point performances.

Red Wings' Alex DeBrincat: Racks up three points Saturday
DeBrincat recorded an even-strength goal and two assists, including one on the power play, in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens.
DeBrincat delivered a dominant performance on offense for the Red Wings and participated directly in three of the team's four goals. The star winger has found the scoresheet in four of his last five contests since the beginning of January, tallying six points (three goals, three assists) in that stretch. This impressive stretch has been a nice bounce-back effort, as DeBrincat had previously gone through a slump of just one point in seven games between Dec. 17 and Dec. 31.

Red Wings' John Gibson: Posts 27-save shutout Saturday
Gibson stopped all 27 shots he faced in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Canadiens.
Gibson posted a third straight win and his third shutout of the season -- the previous ones were against the Canucks and Blackhawks on Dec. 8 and Dec. 13, respectively. Gibson has also looked excellent from a fantasy perspective since this was his fifth straight contest with three or fewer goals conceded.

Red Wings' Carter Bear: Two points in return to WHL play
Bear scored a goal and added an assist in WHL Everett's 4-1 win over Prince George on Saturday.
Bear hasn't been very busy recently, as he logged just two games with Team Canada at the World Junior Championship. He went without a point in those contests. Back in the WHL, he's up to 14 goals and 15 helpers over 24 appearances. The 2025 first-round pick shouldn't need much time to settle back in while helping to lead the Silvertips in their battle for the best record in the WHL.
