Oilers' Dalyn Wakely: Headed for Lowell
Wakely committed to UMass-Lowell ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.
Wakely has spent the last four seasons playing in the OHL for North Bay and Barrie. With the Colts this year, the 21-year-old center generated 23 goals and 35 assists in 55 regular-season contests before chipping in 24 points in 16 playoff games. Selected by the Oilers in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Draft, Wakely should have plenty of time to further develop his game with the River Hawks.

Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Posts helper
Nurse logged an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
Nurse has a helper in each of the last two games, and all five of his points this postseason have come over the last seven contests. The defenseman is at two goals, three assists, 29 shots on net, 30 hits, 29 blocked shots, six PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 12 playoff outings. While he won't add offense all the time, he's a steady source of non-scoring production.

Oilers' Connor McDavid: Dishes pair of assists
McDavid logged two assists, including one on the power play, and four shots on goal in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
McDavid has earned six multi-point efforts already this postseason, with his latest featuring helpers on goals by Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The 28-year-old McDavid has three goals, 16 assists, 47 shots on net, 17 hits, nine blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 12 playoff contests. The Stars have the defensive depth to make his life challenging in the Western Conference Finals, but it's safe to assume McDavid will still find a way to leave his fingerprints on most games.

Oilers' Evan Bouchard: Lights lamp in loss
Bouchard scored a goal in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
Bouchard snapped a seven-game goal drought, giving the Oilers a 3-1 lead in the second period. He was still productive in the second round versus the Golden Knights, earning five assists in as many contests. The defenseman has five goals, eight assists, 31 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 12 outings this postseason while filling his usual roles on the top pairing and first power-play unit.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: One of each in Game 1 loss
Nugent-Hopkins scored a power-play goal on four shots, added an assist and logged two hits in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
Nugent-Hopkins didn't scored in the second round, though he had four helpers over five games against the Golden Knights. He was held off the scoresheet in a pair of low-scoring contests to close out that series. The 32-year-old is up to four goals, seven assists, four power-play points, 26 shots on net, 12 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 12 playoff outings.

Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Involved in all three goals in loss
Draisaitl scored a goal on four shots, added two assists and doled out two hits in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars in Game 1.
Draisaitl earned his sixth multi-point effort over 12 games this postseason. He opened the scoring midway through the first period and helped out on goals by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard in the second. Draisaitl is up to six goals, 13 assists, five power-play points, 37 shots on net, 14 hits and a plus-7 rating this postseason. He centered his own line Wednesday, but if the Oilers struggle in Game 2, it wouldn't be surprising to see Draisaitl and Connor McDavid reunited on the top line.

Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Crumbles in third period
Skinner stopped 22 of 27 shots in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars in Game 1. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.
Skinner had a 3-1 lead to protect at the start of the third period, but the Oilers' parade to the penalty box proved costly. The 26-year-old netminder gave up three power-play goals in the first six minutes of the final frame, and the Oilers never recovered. Skinner has been extreme in both directions this postseason -- at 2-4, he's earned two shutout wins while allowing four or more goals in each of his losses. He'll keep the crease until Calvin Pickard (undisclosed) is healthy, but if first-round Skinner is back, the Oilers could end up digging a deep hole. Game 2 is Friday in Dallas.

Oilers' Connor Brown: Expected to play Wednesday
Brown (undisclosed) took warmups and is expected to play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals versus the Stars on Wednesday, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.
Brown was labeled a game-time decision earlier Wednesday after missing some practices in the Oilers' downtime between the second round and the Western Conference Finals. He should slot into his usual middle-six role. He has seven points through 11 playoff games so far.

Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Set to face Dallas
Skinner is expected to start on the road against Dallas on Wednesday for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, per Tony Brar of Oilers TV.
The Oilers' decision isn't particularly surprising. While Skinner has been mediocre overall in the 2025 playoffs with a 2-3 record, 3.05 GAA and .884 save percentage across five appearances, he's coming off back-to-back shutouts, so it makes perfect sense to give him this assignment. However, Skinner struggled against Dallas during the 2024-25 regular season, posting a 3.99 GAA and an .841 save percentage in three outings.

Oilers' Connor Brown: Considered game-time decision
Brown is considered a game-time decision for Wednesday's Game 1 against the Stars due to an undisclosed injury, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.
Brown's activity has been limited in recent days, as he didn't participate in full practices Saturday or Monday. He was present for Wednesday's morning skate but didn't ultimately skate. Head coach Kris Knoblauch labeled Brown's absence from Saturday's practice as a maintenance day. While Knoblauch said Saturday that he didn't expect Brown to miss time, the 31-year-old's status to begin the Western Conference Finals is up in the air. Brown was productive over the first two rounds of the playoffs, logging four goals, three assists, 10 hits, six blocked shots and two PIM while averaging 15:18 of ice time.

Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: Unavailable for Games 1 and 2
Per Ryan Rishaug of TSN, Ekholm (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup for Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference Finals, according to head coach Kris Knoblauch.
Knoblauch is optimistic that Ekholm will return at some point in Round 3, as the left-shot defenseman has missed 21 of the Oilers' last 22 games, seeing only 1:52 of ice time April 11 in his only outing since March 26 versus Dallas. Ekholm had nine goals, 24 assists, 143 shots and 95 blocked shots across 65 regular-season games in 2024-25.
