Devils' Luke Hughes: Lands on long-term injured reserve
Hughes (shoulder) was placed on long-term injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to Jan. 19.
Hughes sustained the injury in Monday's 2-1 overtime win over Calgary, and he sat out Tuesday's 2-1 victory over Edmonton. He will be unavailable through the Olympic break, and an exact timetable for his return is unclear. Prior to getting hurt, Hughes had appeared in each of the Devils' first 49 games of the 2025-26 season, racking up five goals, 21 assists, 39 blocked shots, 24 PIM and 13 hits while averaging 23:04 of ice time.

Devils' Colton White: Up from AHL
White was called up from AHL Utica on Wednesday.
The Devils moved Luke Hughes (shoulder) to long-term injured reserve in a corresponding move. White has four assists, two PIM, 23 hits and 16 blocks in 23 NHL outings this season. He played in Sunday's 5-4 shootout loss to AH: Belleville after successfully clearing waivers Saturday and briefing heading to the minors.

Devils' Connor Brown: Plucks apple in win
Brown logged an assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Oilers.
Brown had opened January with no points and 11 shots on net over nine games. He had the secondary helper on a Cody Glass goal at 8:32 of the second period, which was ultimately the game-winner. Brown is up to 18 points, 59 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through 43 appearances. He's roughly on pace to match the 30-point regular season he put forth in 82 games with the Oilers last year.

Devils' Arseny Gritsyuk: One of each in win
Gritsyuk scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Oilers.
Gritsyuk ended a seven-game point drought with this effort, which was his first multi-point outing since Dec. 9 versus the Senators. The 24-year-old rookie is up to nine goals, 20 points, 103 shots on net, 42 hits and a minus-5 rating over 46 appearances. He's mainly functioned as a middle-six option this season, though he was listed on the fourth line for this contest.

Devils' Cody Glass: Pair of points in Tuesday's win
Glass scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Oilers.
Glass set up Arseny Gritsyuk's opening tally at 5:23 of the second period. The two reversed roles a few minutes later, with Glass's goal ultimately being the game-winner. The 26-year-old center has four goals and two assists over his last six contests. For the season, Glass is up to 11 goals, four helpers, 68 shots on net, 29 hits, 19 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 39 appearances.

Devils' Jake Allen: Quiets Oilers
Allen stopped 22 of 23 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Oilers.
Allen hadn't played in the Devils' last four games. He lost his previous three outings, but he bounced back in a big way Tuesday, limiting the damage to a Matt Savoie goal in the second period. With the win, Allen improved to 12-11-1 with a 2.61 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 25 appearances. The Devils close out the road trip with a pair of favorable matchups, as they visit the Canucks on Friday and the Kraken on Sunday.

Devils' Dawson Mercer: Pots goal Monday
Mercer scored a goal with his lone shot in Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flames.
Mercer enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign with eight goals and 13 points over his first 12 regular-season contests. However, the winger has cooled off considerably since then and has been limited to only 16 points (five goals, 11 helpers) in his subsequent 37 appearances. Mercer will continue to have opportunities to produce, especially given that he's posted three points over his last four games, but the overall drop in production since that hot start has limited his appeal in most formats.

Devils' Simon Nemec: Scores game-winning goal
Nemec scored the game-winning goal in Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flames.
Nemec has not featured in 14 of the Devils' last 18 games, mainly due to a 12-game absence because of a lower-body injury, but the 21-year-old blueliner came through in the clutch for the Devils in this one. Nemec has already tied his career-high mark in points with 19, as he's tallied eight goals and 11 assists in 35 contests to date. The second overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft is making a strong case to show he deserves a bigger role in the Devils' defensive scheme.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Gives up one goal Monday
Markstrom stopped 21 of 22 shots in Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flames.
Markstrom was beaten midway through the second period on a slap shot by Nazem Kadri, but he was excellent the rest of the way. Markstrom seems to have turned things around after allowing nine goals to the Islanders on Jan. 6, as he's given up two or fewer goals in three of his subsequent four appearances. Over that four-game stretch, the Swede netminder has gone 3-1-0 with a 2.21 GAA and a .907 save percentage.

Devils' Luke Hughes: Hurt in Calgary
Head coach Sheldon Keefe relayed after Monday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flames that Hughes (undisclosed) is going to miss some time, according to Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News.
Hughes was injured during the second period and didn't return to the game. NHL Insider Frank Seravalli reported that it sounds like the initial assessment of Hughes' injury is a dislocated shoulder, but that hasn't been made official by the team. Keefe told the media that Hughes still needs further evaluation and won't be available for the remainder of the Devils' road trip, which concludes Sunday in Seattle. Johnny Kovacevic, who was a healthy scratch Monday, is poised to draw back into the lineup in the second half of the team's back-to-back Tuesday in Edmonton.

Devils' Jake Allen: Slated to start Tuesday
Allen is expected to defend the road net against Edmonton on Tuesday,
Allen is poised to get the second half of New Jersey's back-to-back after Jacob Markstrom plays in Monday's road matchup against Calgary. The 35-year-old Allen has gone 11-11-1 this campaign with a 2.68 GAA, a .906 save percentage and one shutout. Edmonton sits fourth in the league with 3.40 goals per game this season.

Devils' Ondrej Palat: Good to go
Palat (illness) will play against Calgary on Monday, according to Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
After missing Saturday's 4-1 loss to Carolina, Palat will return to a top-six role versus the Flames on Monday. He has contributed four goals, 10 points, 51 shots on net, 37 blocked shots and 84 hits through 47 outings this campaign.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Expected to start Monday
Markstrom is slated to start on the road against Calgary on Monday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.
Markstrom will attempt to get back into the win column after stopping 31 of 35 shots in a 4-1 loss to Carolina on Saturday. He's 12-11-1 with a 3.37 GAA and an .879 save percentage in 25 outings in 2025-26. The Flames are 21-23-4 this season, but they have won three of their past four games while outscoring the competition 12-9 over that stretch.

Devils' Nathan Legare: Two goals in AHL shootout loss
Legare scored twice in AHL Utica's 5-4 shootout loss to Belleville on Sunday.
Legare had gone 11 games without a point at the AHL level, a span that also included an NHL call-up but no game action with the Devils. The winger has been limited to five goals, two assists, 45 shots on net, 49 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 31 appearances this season with Utica.

Devils' Timo Meier: Ends point drought in loss
Meier scored a power-play goal, placed seven shots on net and had two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Carolina.
Meier's power-play goal early in the third period was the lone bright spot of Saturday's contest for the Devils, who have dropped to seventh in the Metropolitan Division standings. His twine finder ended a six-game streak without a point and has the 29-year-old winger up to 13 goals, 26 points and 149 shots on net through 43 games this season. Despite New Jersey's recent struggles, Meier maintains solid value in fantasy due to his high shot volume, as he has recorded seven shots on goal in five of his last 13 games. He has added 77 hits and 31 blocks, which makes Meier worth rostering in most standard leagues moving forward.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Allows four goals in loss
Markstrom stopped 31 of 35 shots on goal in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Saturday's loss ended a solid run of play for Markstrom, who had three wins over his previous four games. The 35-year-old netminder now has a 12-11-1 record with a 3.37 GAA and an .879 save percentage through 25 appearances this season. Markstrom's on pace for the worst full-season numbers of his career. With New Jersey trending downward in the Metropolitan Division standings, the veteran netminder is a risky option across all fantasy formats unless the team can turn things around. Markstrom's next chance to bounce back is Monday in Calgary.
